Looking at how easily excited he gets, how quickly bored he gets, his extremely varying interest (doctor, carpenter, plumber, racer, golfer, etc.) I'd say it's hard to keep him focused. He probably has ADHD or ADD.
I also few him as EXTREMELY competitive. How many games does this fat plumber play? To the point where he doesn't care that he's inviting a guy over that constantly kidnaps his girlfriend, as long as he is kicking Bowser's tail in a freaking go-kart. ><; H
Let's not forget how quiet he is. He only seems to talk in a twin language with his brother, scream in delight/agony, introduce himself, or dis/agree.
I'd also say he has a little bit of an ego. He has his name on his hat, and he calls his group the "MARIO" Bros. He also literally taunts people claiming "Mario, number one. Yahooo." He says his own name... to gloat.
Granted, Mario seems to have no problem with no sex. Peach in super paper mario has denied being his boyfriend. Peach has baked him a cake, and kissed his cheek, but given the circumstances, it's sort of an obligation. It would look tacky if she didn't reward him in some minor fashion and what better way than giving a fat man a cake. He also seems to save the princesses out of the goodness of his heart. He had no interest in daisy, Roseline, or Paulina (attack of the minis) . We know mario and peach aren't married, because he'd be a prince.
Oh, and Mario is fat because he really likes to nap a lot.
