Also it might be nice to have a vague ranking system, not power rankings, but maybe a national Link seed or tourney feasibility category based on tournament performance.

I used to play in tourneys closer to 2008-2009. Highest tournament placement was 7th (never attended MAJOR tournaments, just semi-local ones - 4hr drive was the longest I think). Never was amazing in tournaments, but I think my link is quite strong, and it still is.
