Oh, okay...*cough* Premium changed his thing *cough*
Don't worry, I read you loud and clear.Actually, I don't know now.
I've never come across anyone who's meteor canceled Link's dtilt...
Though, I don't know all too much about Melee's properties and such, so you'll have to ask someone else.
But you get what I'm trying to say ^.^
Link's dtilt = sends people down.
They're similar, but not quite the same thing.@Dyce: My inner n00b is coming out...I thought Meteor Smashes and spikes were the same thing...?
In that case, the dtilt is a Meteor Smash...I've had wars with Kirbytrying to MSmash him, but he just keeps jumping...I finally managed it, though...Don't worry, I read you loud and clear.
They're similar, but not quite the same thing.
Spikes are VERY deadly, but meteors can be "Meteor Cancelled". Meteor cancelling is when you jump or uB immediately after recieving a meteor. You will go down slightly from the hit, but will recover instantaneously.
Spikes, on the other hand, will not let you move at all until your stun is over.
There are four total spikes in Melee:
1. Falco's dAir
2. Ganondorf's aerial dB
3. A tipper from Marth's dAir
4. The nipples of CFalcon's dAir (yes, his nipples, not his feet)
Then there are semi-spikes that work just like spikes, except they send you more out than down.
(Fox's Shine, Link's uB, Sheik's fAir, etc.)
Everything else that sends you downward is a meteor and can be meteor cancelled.
And for the record I'm pretty sure that Link's dTilt is a meteor.
And for the other record, I'm pretty sure egruntz is lying about his banning. (I don't think it's humanly possible to recieve 22 points... and still manage to post!)
ShweetDon't worry, I read you loud and clear.![]()
I found out that much from the Smashwiki, but as I said in my previous edited post, Link's dtilt isn't listed as either a meteor or a spike. And it's not listed in the semi-spike either. They're similar, but not quite the same thing.

He can recover with his super?! O_Olink is really really really cool just like in every other game he's ever been in. his final smash is too good for recovery n_n
Well, they just come out a LOT faster, and are stronger than before I suppose.I think its useful for a lot more Gimpy...
And egruntz can you describe just how his arrows have changed?
No clue. Can link block foxs lasers now? just by stanting idle or crouching facing there direction?
Now you killed my buzzStop talking about how much Link is going to pwn all.
While it's clear that Link has been improved, we still don't know how much the other characters have been improved, or what new counter moves characters could have.
It was a demo, there were limited characters to put Link against, the guy was there for one day.
Let's avaoid placing characters onto a teir until the game has actually been played aggresively.
My final note is that while I am pointing out the fact that Link may NOT pwn all, I still love him and he seems to have good improvements thus far.
Not complaining, just talking some sense.
Talking about how much Link has improved / changed is what this thread is based off of. And being the Link fans that some of us are, of course we're going to praise that our favorite character (in some opinions) has been improved. We're not particularly predicting where Link will be listed in the tier list, but rather more on how much Link will kick some ***.Stop talking about how much Link is going to pwn all.

Sure thing!Nice thread egruntz! reading this has really actually made my day ^_^
So the dark link costume is the same as how he appeared in Twilight princess? thanx man.
I was really wondering how the Gale Boomerang would work. Seems like you're still unsure yourself. I WAS NOT AT E FOR ALL, but I have a thought. The Gale Boomerang hits when it flies forward, but when it comes back it will pull the opponent instead of hitting. Can you think back and say this might be the formula for the Gale Boomerang?Side B: Gale Boomerang
I've received a few questions on this one! The Gale Boomerang does indeed pull an opponent back toward you, which is an awesome feature to add! Oddly, there's times when this function does and doesn't work. In some occasions I'd easily pull an opponent to me, and carry on with some sort of attack / combo. Then there were other situations where the Gale Boomerang would hardly move my enemies at all. Perhaps the Gale Boomerang works with the damage amount an opponent has already taken? That'd sure be something interesting to test out! Hurry, someone call Trevyn!
I use YL's original colors, usually...plus black sometimes...I'm more of a Red Tunic Link guy myself. Green works nicely, too. No one picks a character's original colors anymore.![]()
Speaking of which (not exactly), what are Link's idle animations? You should add that to the first post...He can recover with his super?! O_O
I really should have tested that out! >.> I'm definitely adding that to the front page!
That's just ****

Sure thing!
For the last day or so I've been searching through E for All videos looking for the fourth Link taunt. Then I realized, there's only three tants.
Taunts added to the first post under "Extra Information"!
We have the returning Melee form, the Twilight Princess taunt, and the Navi fairy taunt!
Thanks to Wyvern for supplying the link to the TP taunt!
Hope this helped!
Clever, clever...that could be it...Great info. You satisfied most of my Link curiousity.

Also, FYI, it looks like you don't have Link's Dash Attack listed.
You're exactly right with the Gale Boomerang; I wasn't too clear on describing it in my first post, was I? Also, thanks for the tip on the dash attack!Great info. You satisfied most of my Link curiousity.
