I don't know if there's already a post on this but, for those with Brawl what are they? I've heard about Ness' up smash and the tether recovery. Is there anything else?

Wall clinging is the only plainly broken thing known so far. It's like wallbombing in Melee, but easy. Anything else needs more looking into and/or is just people overreacting.

How could we decide if there are broken techniques if the game isnt even out yet. And "broken" is a very loose term.

too true. i wonder why some people use them - i mean its like "i'll use my tether recovery instead of 3 jumps, so if i miss, too bad"
I'm pretty sure that in Brawl you can use your tether as many times as you want, and you also retain all of your jumps and up B.

Methinks he meant Lucas' Up Smash... :ohwell: It's not broken; sure, it can kill pretty consistently, but it's also laggy as hell. With at least a full second or two of wind-up, it's not like the opponent can't predict it.

I get pretty tired of seeing all these posts about 'broken' moves and abilities. Just because a move doesn't function like it did in Melee does not necessarily mean that it is broken. Just because it doesn't work the way you guys expected or intended it to does not mean it is broken. As far as I'm concerned if the developers intended a move to work as it does, then it is working as intended and subsequentially not 'broken'. Plus, broken just sounds like you're insulting the move itself, which just degrades the character as a whole. While some characters in Melee might have deserved it, Brawl is not Melee 2.0 and therefore you can not expect every move to be identical to its predeccesing move, no matter how buffed or nerfed it has become. If a move sucks then so be it, however it doesn't mean that it is broken!

In response to the newly-found glitches such as TL's Dair and Falco's infinite laser, if those are to be considered broken moves then I highly doubt that Ninty would put them in on purpose. If they did, well then it's probably working as intended. If not then it is probably a glitch, which does not make it broken, merely not working as intended.

Also how many of you guys that complain about certain moves have actually played the game hands-on thoroughly enough to learn every single one of that particular moves' pros and cons?

Sorry to sound so hostile, especially for a first time poster, but that kind of attitude really gets to me.

Tripping makes the game more intense imo i'm glad to see it included.
Fear you are going to trip? Whip up a plan to get yourself out of the mess incase you do.

Laser lock doesn't ruin the game. it's pretty easy not to miss a tech with the new low stun frames and the fact that you can air dodge mid-tumble now.

yea.... i meant lucas' U smash.. sry
Either way, Lucas's up smash certainly isn't a broken move either. Sure, it has good range and power, but the startup time and the lag are worse than Ike's Fsmash, and Lucas gets no super armor or anything while performing the attack. It also doesn't KO until about 80% which is nothing compared to Ivysaur's up smash (which KOs at around 60% for most characters)
