Anyway, the time to buy tickets draws near, and im sure everyone (from perth at least) has agreed to the 11th to the 19th (18th for ryan ) time span. Now that that issue is settled, we should start looking at accomodation arrangements. I dont know who is staying where, but it would be good if all the perth people could stay together, or at least break us up into ryan+mic and me+josh+kenton. If no one can host us at their house, we will need to know very soon so we can save some money to get a hotel which i hope we dont have to resort to. If parents have issues, we will do the customary telephone call and hopefully that will work everything out.
Once that is sorted we will need to work out transportation methods. People with a car's (i am assuming jon, shaz and cats can all drive, correct me if im wrong) will need to transport people and luggage to the house of residence.
If we can orgainise all of this as soon as possible, then we can buy the tickets knowing what will happen. We dont want this to turn into shambles at the last second, remember, the last Aus Tourney only had 4 people flying over, this one has a **** of a lot more, the sooner this is worked out the better.

Just posting to re-confirm that myself and Kris (friend of mine) are definatly comming, (hazah!) however we can only really hang out with the smash crew for about 3 days including tourny due to work commitments and ive got a few friends i'd like to catch up with, so we're looking at arriving in melb on the 13th, and was wondering what exactly will be the go, if no ones know yet thats cool, just trying to make sure I get a chance to meet and socialise/get pwned by people. ^_^

No matter when you folks touch down in sunny Melbourne, make sure you're here on the 14th, 15th, or 16th of Feburary (I'll aim for the 15th), due to availability issues in hiring a venue. I'll keep you guys updated as soon as possible, and according to the venue hired, the entry fee will most likely be $20 for the full day. If the attendance is large (i.e. 40+ people), or the venue is smaller, the entry free could be $15. If the venue hire is somewhat cheaper, or is waived, the surplus can go towards something spiffy... like prize money for the best Aussie smasher...

My folks aren't very "housing-foreigners" inclined, so I'd say 1 would be fortunate, but then most of you wouldn't want to be separated, and I wouldn't want to bore you. However, I did ask some time ago and I'll see again tonight, what the situation is. 3 is doubtful.

just a post to let all you organisers know that if its alright, there'll be another (that makes 3 definate, including myself) QLD smashers attending. the extra person is a guy named Craig I met last weekend who mates are all smash bros, im not sure how old he is but hes a few years older than me so at least 20/21 (hes not a n00b or a snot nosed baby thats for sure ^_^)

we've all got our accom covered, the only issue will be distance, tho im not sure of the exact location of where im staying, so I'd just like to know if there will be an intinery of planned outtings, or where we plan to place our behinds and stare at a cathode ray tube (with reeeeeal pretty colours) for hours on end.

if these details are being sorted at the moment im down with that, just need to know the order of events of the 2 days before the tounry as thats the only time i will be spending with the smash crew, save the actual tounry day.

i dont really care what we actually do, i just need to know where i need to be and when, from there im happy to follow people around.

this is shaping up to be killer. even if heaps of **** goes to ****, i think as long as we get everyone at the same place with a couple GC's for a day, and we all smash **** out of each other, the warming glow of the ties held by smash brethren will shine through.

The venue has been confirmed so check the first post on this topic. As for the itinerary, just go with the flow. Knowing most of us Melbournites, such a thing wouldn't even exist. But just give contacts and I'm sure we'll all be in one happy group to do some random crap. Yeah, the whole thing will be great. As much as the Tourny itself, It'd be ace to meet all the new folks from elsewhere.

Lol, don't be so picky Mat. How often do you get to stay in a different state for only $100 for a week? That's ridiculously cheap. Plus, parents may not be very happy hosting an extra person for an entire week, let alone 3 or 4 people. Let's take what we can get, neh?


(And I agree with Cella, I was very surprised when I saw you post that, even if it wasn't meant to sound like it did. Still, it's all good right? )

Ok, for my visit in December -

14th - I arrive. Not much smashing to be done this day, as there's the whole unpacking and stuff.

15th - I go christmas shopping with family for family. Again, its hard to play smash when I'm out.

16th through 21st - I'm FREE!!! (Or at least I think I'm free)

Anyways, you get the picture. Whichever days you guys are free and want to catch up, I'll be happy to. Also, I'm currently starting a collection of people's home and mobile numbers, just in case I don't have readily available internet at my relatives, so if at some point I could get some PM's, IM's or whatever telling me your numbers, it'll be good.

P.S. I may need to stay at someone's house overnight possibly at one point, because different relatives are going up to Bendigo at different times, and I know the 21st is the last day I can get a lift there, so... yeah. But only if its cool with you guys.
