MK is always regarded as the character that "takes no skill to play as" by anti-Meta Knight players. MK is definitely easy to pick up, but I wouldn't go as far as to say he takes no skill to play as. That's a stupid statement.

Rambling aside, MK is easy to pick up.

the only advice i can give you is to not post ANy threads about who you should main because you'll get flamed alot...

btw meta knight and snake are the best you can use.the reason is that with meta knight you press B when you want to shield.

Yeah go for MK.

Then go for da main man, MARTH if you don't like MK. Cause Marth is that awesome.

MK or Pit.

When we have little bouts with people new to the game, we just tell them, "Go Pit", and they get the hang of the game after about 10 minutes of using him.

Somehow I don't see CHEAP as cool.

Mario, Pit, MK, and apparently Diddy Kong are easy to pick up.
You're only hatin' cause he rocks a tiara and you could never, ever do that.

Pit would help him also, but he wouldn't get the basics of smashes and when to use. Pits fsmash and usmash are god awful... at least IMO.

Where people get NOTHING.
LOL

Diddy has a poor recovery so I wouldn't reccomend him if your just getting back into it.

How do you fight? Are you aggressive? defensive? etc

That would help us figure out who to reccomend for you.

EDIT:Go to the Character Diffuculty Scale thread. You'll find a pretty good answer there.

Actually Diddy is pretty easy to pick up.

To Super_Sonic8677:

What are you talking about bad recovery? Diddy's recovery is awesome, 2 recovery moves that he can put together.

I actually started with Diddy and had a fair bit of success with him. He's really fun to play too.

If you ask me, Pikachu, Metaknight, Marth, and Fox are the easiest characters to pick up and do well with even if you're a beginner. These four characters have plenty of KO options, easy to use moves, and decent recoveries.

Definitely Meta Knight, basic moves with simple control and a simple, very effective recover. It's hard to make mistakes when you use Meta Knight and if you do it's usually easy to recover from them quickly. Victory is his destiny.

Everyone in Brawl is really easy to pick up :dizzy:
Riiight.

Anyway to the OP, I'd choose Marth as easy to pick up and learn the game with, and once you do that, you can learn a more difficult character easier.

All Kirby characters and also Pit: All of them have insane recoveries and aren't too complicated.

Pit is easy to use, but has a whole lot of little tricks that are a pain to learn.

Meta Handles wierd but is really good.

Kirby has been my goto guy to train people with. Good recovery, speed, and KO ability with out being "cheap"
