Don't tell me you're another blind fan. I haven't tested Mewtwo as a Smash character yet (I started on Super Smash Bros. videogames with BRAWL, then I bought Melee), but it would be nice to compare both characters myself. I'll tell you my opinion once my brother and I have unlocked Mewtwo in Melee. Althoug, if both character were to be in the next Super Smash Bros. videogame, I would consider appropiate for Mewtwo's special attacks to be stronger compared to his physical attacks, and Lucario to be the opposite. But I'm interested on the topic, but only if all of us were to discuss it orderly and without hatred.
If we were to evaluate the reasons for which both chcaracters are (Lk's case) or have been (M2's case) in the Super Smash Bros. Series, they're fairly similar, yet somewhat complementary:
-Both characters have protagonic roles in Pokémon movies, and in someway, they both try to understand their relationship with humans. That gave them the fame needed to be in such videogames.
-In Pokémon videogames, no particular Pokémon have an extraordinaryly role (legendary Pokémons are only harder to catch and appear once per game file, yet you can use them as the other Pokémons). This is the case of both Pokémon (especially Mewtwo, for being legendary).
-Both Pokémon are strong, yet for many Mewtwo is better because he has the extra power due to being product of genetical engineering. On the other side, Lucario is strong because of the Aura energy, which is stronger due to emotions (Lucario evolves form Riolu, the EMOTION Pokémon).

Is it neccesary to make such a BIG issue due to videogame characters?

I F***ing HATE it when people say crap like that. How can you compare Lucario to Mewtwo when Mewtwo wasn't even in the game? If Mewtwo WAS in smash he would've been buffed.
