Wasn't there a time in DBZ where Namek was about to explode in 5 minutes, but it took like 10 episodes to get past that 5 minute timespan. And all the various characters charging up power while screaming sometimes took 2-3 episodes to finish. Amazing show!

Generally speaking, Lucarios are not exactly the most joy-filled pokemon. Mewtwo is the only one of his kind, and had some bad experiences, so him not smiling much isn't a surprise. However, in the anime, the games, and Brawl, ANY Lucario actually being happy is an incredibly rare sight.

All Lucarios are not emo. Most of them like their trainers because they are forced to maim other pokemon and obey your every command, isn't that what being a good parent is all about?

You generally need at least a month's notice to take off if you're working anywhere. A trip across the states is gonna run you about 500$ roundtrip, and any plans that they may have had that weekend.
