I don't know what I monotreme is, but since Platapusses (hope that's how it's spelt) lay eggs, at least some mammals have that ability.

Also, there is a difference between making tension and losing your audience. DBZ strived for the latter more times than I can count.

Seriously though, Mewtwo was horrible in Melee. Plus there's a bunch of first-gen pokemon in the game as it is. Lucario is a pretty cool, fairly popular pokemon. To be honest, I actually don't even think he's good compared to many of the other overused pokemon (he's a cool pokemon either way, despite this), but he's a helluva lot more interesting than Mewtwo. I like the pokemon better as a whole, and hope he stays in the game.

Mewtwo doesn't have the advantage.

Lucario is Steel/Fighting type. Mewtwo is Psychic. Psychic is super effective against Fighting, but not very effective against Steel. So, its neutral.

And Lucario is ranked 4th in the OU used list. I forget where Mewtwo is ranked, although I'm pretty sure Kyogre is 1st.
