Killing Joke skin is in
Hell yeah! That looks awesome! Admittedly, I was kinda worried they wouldn't be able to make it work because of the wide-brimmed hat, but this looks really cool. Can't wait to get a closer look.
Turns out there are two versions of the Dexter’s Laboratory Stage.
Edit: While I’m here:
This is actually pretty intriguing. Do y'all think it's a possibility that other stages will get layout variants akin to this, or is it moreso the case that the final layout in the game is just one of these two and it's been changed during development or something?
I mean the music is nice but they need to be dropping more character reveals. Game releases in 11 days.
Let's move it along, people. Show us you have a reasonable amount of new content to show.
Honestly... as much as I want to remain positive, I'm kind of hoping they do at least have something to drop. At this point, I'm beginning to think the reason for so much silence on that front is possibly that they want to have a decent lineup of reveals after launch to keep interest high, which sounds smart on paper, but feels like it causes a few issues when we're so close to release.
Then again, I will admit there's also a possibility that there isn't much
to show. If the game's been reworked significantly enough, then the year or so since it EoS might have mostly been used for engine tweaking and the like - which could cause a whole host of other mechanical issues. (I mean, transferring the entire game to UE5 sounds like a massive headache.) That's not even getting into possible issues with Warner Bros. themselves, who could be causing all kinds of trouble behind the scenes that's being kept quiet behind the veneer of acknowledging that we're glad they're back.
Not that I think it's an "excuse". If the game doesn't launch with much new content, it's going to look bad - and spell trouble for
MultiVersus's longevity. I think it'd be a shame for the game to die out, but I will also completely admit that's a possibility. At the very least, I hope some of its ideas can get explored in the platfighter space in the future - less stuff like its live-service model, but more interesting things like supporting characters, 2v2 balancing, signature perks, that kinda thing. I think there's a lot of room for experimentation on that front.
