I think I'd genuinely prefer half of the next ten characters to be DC characters over getting any other OCs...ever. How they play ultimately doesn't matter much when they're an OC added to a live service crossover game. That just takes resources away from actual characters.

And that's again ignoring that Avia isn't even an OC anyway.

But Avia is still bloating DC. She's another Nubia situation but even worse since she's so obscure that she's practically a MultiVersus original, she never had a mainline appearance in DC. It's a double whammy of bad decision making. She'd be better as an NPC/Boss akin to her role in the comic.

DC hate is so crazy in this thread, we're now arguing that another Reindog (the least played character in the game) would be better than legendary hero Flash or Green Lantern.

Obligatory reminder that DC deserves every character and cosmetic they get. It's not just favoritism of some random obscure franchise, It's DC: the staple of Warner.

DC is majorly carrying WB with a **** ton of projects, has decades of popularity fame and influence, is widely requested outright w/ some of the most supported and followed accounts being entirely DC chars, AND the fans put their money where their mouth is (they have experience with purchasing literally anything with the DC label on it lmao). There's nothing but benefits to adding DC.

In other news, the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL for short) apparently put Multiversus up for “Best Original Score in Interactive Media” for their next round of awards.

1. Multiversus didn't invent Avia, so by definition she isn't an OC.
2. Adding a second original character, other than adding Devoid/The Nothing as a boss if the game ever gets to close out its story, would be financial suicide. Almost nobody cares about Reindog as it is, so adding another OC as a post launch character at this point in time would leave the game on death's door.

They really should just give Reindog away for free. Almost no one plays him as is, his cosmetics likely don't sell well, and having to work to get him definitely puts a damper on it too; you gotta find him really ****in cute to care about him, and honestly? He really isn't that cute.

It'd be one thing if the DC character was a low tier obscure character that didn't even make it into James Gunn's The Suicide Squad

But we're still missing **** Grayson, Jason Todd, Damian Wayne, Lex Luthor, Deathstroke, Starfire, Cyborg, a Green Lantern, Sinestro, a Flash, Martian Manhunter, Darkseid, Bane, Catwoman, Mr Freeze, General Zod, Supergirl and Black Manta. And there's still plenty of others you could mention. We're not at a point where "More obscure than Polka Dot Man" tier characters are being entertained.

Having another OC get in when there's still more than enough water in the well to draw from would be stupid.

My guess is they'd go for MonsterVerse or Hannah-Barbera because of the WB involvement.

I mean, her representation in the comic really solidifies that she's NPC material for Devoid and the overall plot. She has no real abilities shown in the MVS comic nor is her powerset ever really touched upon in her adult elseworld what if appearances.

She's an extremely underground DC character that never really shined ever. Even Nubia at least has comics and fleshed out abilities to her name.

Speaking of Nubia, while i was playing some matches her grunts were all from Wonder Woman at time for some reason and not hers, this is a common bug for legendary skins.

Meaning yes, she was totally meant to be a legendary skin LOL

Some interesting findings:

The vast majority of characters use their jab finisher. The majority of characters who don't seem to have something unique about their jab that makes it unviable as a shield breaker.

Rick is the only character with a completely unique shield breaker, and Marvin oddly uses an aerial attack from the ground. Back when shields first entered testing, both of these characters had Jab 2 as their shield breaker, which could still be followed up with jab 3 (which is a projectile for both of them,) thus allowing that projectile to be fired more rapidly as they could skip Jab 1. Evidently they wanted to change that. I wonder if Marvin will get a custom shield breaker in the future, like Rick's.

Steven also uses an aerial as a shield breaker (Neutral Air,) but this is a necessity as he can use his shield midair and thus also needs to be able to shield breaker midair.

Black Adam also oddly uses an aerial as a shield breaker (Down Air.) However, since his jab finisher is a grab, his up tilt is a multihit, his down tilt summons lightning from the ground, and his neutral attack is too slow to be a shield breaker, I can see why they opted to use down air instead. Unlike his actual down air, his shield breaker causes him to automatically slide forward a small distance.

It's because of a quote from a long time ago that purported that WB wanted to use Multiversus to showcase its IP instead of putting said IP in games it didn't own. That quote lined up with when we stopped getting WB content in Fortnite. Now we're getting it again, and WB has been on the record saying Multiversus failed to meet expectations, so it's not totally unreasonable for people to connect the dots.

Also, there was a Beetlejuice Beetlejuice promotion within Roblox to promote that film.

I think Multiversus can coexist with other titles.
