My Controller is Broken!

This is related to Smash Brothers in the way that I can't play it without my decent controller (GameCube controller).

The backstory is this:
I was playing some smash brothers (ho ho) and I was beating some dudes up (computers), then I get done fighting in a fight and my brother comes in and is like "Let me play" so I decided I should let him since i've been playing for awhile. I go in my room and play some Super Smash Brothers 64 on my computer and read up on smashboards and then two hours passed, I go downstairs and I don't see him around so I go "alright cool" and I go to play, and then I try and move with the good controller (GameCube) and nothing is going through, I check and see if the wireless receiver is plugged in the Wii and it's not, so I look around for my brother and he has it all unscrewed and messing with it, I ask him wtf is he doing and he said he got angry at the game, threw it at the wall, and now it's not working. So I call him a ****** and I check it out, and I don't see anything physically wrong with it from my extent, but i'll plug it in and the LED light will flicker softly instead of staying on fully, and none of the input actions from the controller work, however it will show that it is plugged in by the fact that it will show a gamecube controller on the Brawl mode in Brawl, just I can't move up with the controller or anything really. Have any idea what I could do?

If you really need pics of the receiver board I could get some

More details: The controller is Mad Catz with a gamestop logo on it, receiving at 2.4 GHz, and it was made in CHINA

Any more details I would be glad to answer if asked, but srsly I can't play without this controller, any ideas on what I can do?

Get two. So your brother can break his own next time. But make sure he pays.

So no super tech guys who will go "check in the board for any dentings in an area that looks like it has six needily things sticking out of it" or anything? and yes lycrof, if this fails, I may have to turn in the gamecube controller (read: throw it in the trash so I don't look at it every day and be like "maaan..") and get a classic instead :[

This is the only piece of MadCatz equipment I've heard of that hasn't broken itself. And someone LIKED using it, too!

Ever tried the WaveBird?

I have a a similar problem. Does anyone know of any GOOD controllers that you can get easily in the UK?

Have you checked eBay?

Also - why did Nintendo stop making controllers? It's obvious there's still a demand for them. Anyone with a Wii should own Brawl, and anyone with Brawl should own at least 1-2 GC controllers for the best experience. :p
