Ness Has Most Powerful Spike?

Does he? I'm talking about an equipped spike, not an AT one. I tested his spike by having my friend jump off FD and I'd spike him in midair. He was sent down at the speed other spiked players travel when they're at 100% from someone else's spike (not Ness's). Is it the most powerful spike?

it's up there, def. top three overall.

it's either number 1 or 2 for base knockback (knockback at 0%), but I don't remember which, as it's been a few months since someone tested it.

It's number 2 in spiking power. Ganondorf is number 1.
Spiking Power: (highest to lowest)
Percentage required in training mode (similar procedure) to KO a Mario downward in the water of Pirate Ship.

Ganondorf: 25 (d-air), 45 (Wizard's Foot, initial hitbox)
Ness: 26 (d-air)

Zelda: 38 (dair)
Ike: 40 (d-air)
Snake: 45 (f-air)

DK: 50 (d-air), 62 (f-air)
Toon Link: 57 (d-air)
G&W: 67 (d-air)
Charizard: 67 (d-air, 99 fatigued)

Marth: 70 (d-air)
Diddy: 70 (d-air)
Samus: 76 (d-air)
Falcon: 76 (d-air), 119 (Aerial Raptor Boost)
ROB: 79 (d-air)

Lucas: 81 (bair)
Falco: 84 (d-air)
Wolf: 84 (d-air)
Yoshi: 90 (f-air)

Mario: 109 (f-air)

Ness actually has the strongest constant-knockback spike, meaning it does the most knockback of any spike at 0%. This is similar to Ness's forward throw, which always throws the opponent a large constant distance and increases very little with damage. Ganondorf or Ike have spikes with extremely high linear knockback, similar to Ness's back throw.

at 0 % percent ness' is the stongest in terms of knockdown speed
from 15- 110% it ganondorfs
and from 120+ i truley believe zelda sweetspot is the fastest at this point, they are gone in a matter of frames.

in terms of damage i think ganons is the most damaging, unless you count yoshi's dair a spike

No, Ness hasthe strongest spike in terms of hitstun (which is all you really need for a spike).
Ganon's spike has more knockback and killing power bascially. If you are in the water, Gnon's spike will kill a few points earlier, and it will kill much earlier than Ness' on a grounded opponent, BUT, hitstun is what you want in ta spike.

Ganon's spike sends opponents 5 stage builder squares down before the hitstun wears off. Ness' sends them down 7 squares.

Even if people consider Ganon's stronger, Ness' has a humongous disjointed hitbox under him (think Snake's utilt downwards) that FAR surpasses Ganon's.

Ness spike>All

Yeah, I read at zero is does (no idea why just at zero but hey).

And I do love the hitstun on it, I've spiked a few snakes after a Dthrow for a kill (that's like 9 percent before the spike) which is pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Yeah, but alot of people refer to meteor smashes as spikes since there are only like 2-3 real "spikes" in the game.

i live where a Wii is and a tourney in the moment.
actually ness spike is awesome no doubt the thing is that agains good players they just evade or just survive the meteor smash and ness spike is a meteor :( is just that in brawl the timing is a bit hard. In melle was more "easy" actually a meteor smash if you dont know is a spike you can escape by either jumping or UP B (if my meory dont fail me..) with the timing and there is it.... keep in mind in melle falco Dair wasn't a meteor but ganon dar was a meteor.... hope that "helps"

As far as powerful if you bounce them off the level and kill them off the top. I think Gdorf's is way better at that, thunderstomping (think that's what they call the shorthopped lagless Dair) is too good.

Fair to dair sometimes can lead to a pseudo ken combo if you aerial rise after the fair. it's cool

There still is a problem with that bcuz we can never test how powerful zeldas is bcuz you cant sweetspot it on the ground, for all we know it could be the best at that

But... Zelda's can't bounce the foe off of the ground, so it shouldn't even be qualified for this. Even if she could, I don't think it could compare to just getting flat out stomped by Ganon.

I have a question: does the horizontal knockback of dair have hitstun? I might as well ask that here.

I love how people think in absolutes here. There's more than one factor at work here, meaning that Ness's spike is the most powerful for a range of percents.

And ganons doesn't have a disjoint? He can spike you with his chin, it's crazy.

^^^And it is also more convinient than ganon's. It's faster, easy to hit with, and non-punishable.
Actually, Ganondorf's is exactly the one you describe there. It is faster, easy to hit with, and in most cases non-punishable. So, Ganon's is more convenient. :)

Ness' spike is easier to hit with. Ganons isnt very disjoineted at all, but Ness' is. It goes like a Ness height under the extension of his foot.
