Ness vs Shiek. Who has the advantage?

Does Ness REALLY have the disadvantage? The matchup chart explicitely states so. Anywho, can you tell me what Shiek has on Ness.

I see:

No CG
No deathgrab

So it's nothing gay.

ftilts from 10-70% <-- this is gayer than chaingrabs
Good edgeguarding vs a mediocre recovery

Ankoku pretty much summed up the lopsided match-up. Ness can space with his constant F-Air spamming, but eventually Sheik has the edge past that with the speed of her aerials, F-Tilt, and U-Tilt. Once caught in an F-Tilt lock Ness pretty much sucks up 50-60% of damage unless you SDI towards her (very hard to do) and then eat an Up-Smash. If you're off the stage, you're pretty much dead unless you can get PKT2 off in time AND sweet spot the edge-- Sheik's edge guarding ability really shines in this match up. Lastly, edge guarding Sheik with PKT won't work as F-Air out prioritizes PKT

Advantage: Sheik :D!

probably. then again i consider my sheik play in that video subpar also. quite old. just an example x). he actually eliminated me from that tournament using wario.

Sheik can chaingrab Ness. Unlike Marth, she has to take like, barely one step before regrabbing off the grab release. Anyways, because of Ness's stupid grab release animation, he can still get comboed into say... a dsmash or tilt combo.

So, infinite grab till you get kinda close to the stage, then tilt lock or smash >_>

No she cannot, With DI, She can't reach him. But she can tilt him. No infinites.

Also, I don't give credit to pretty much anything in Brawl Tactical Discussion.

Ness has better killing moves - bair, bthrow, bat, uair, pkt2, dair (strongest spike in the game) - but Sheik's speed is too much for him. Now, if the Sheik turns into Zelda for the kill... then Ness is even more screwed.

Definitely in Sheik's favor, but it's not as bad as some of Ness's matchups - i.e. Marth.

Sure but not positive. She can grab him, Ness can release and she can use the F tilt I believe. But all is not lost, F tilt can be split seconded spot dodged. Tested with my friend. Shielding works to, but spot dodge gets the max effect.

And of course Ness isn't lucky, but luckier than bottom tier trash like Shiek. Ya I went there.

If the Ftilt lock is properly performed, it CANNOT be spot dodged or shielded.

And Sheik is NOT bottom tier. True, she hasn't had tournament showings, but that was for lack of people playing her. With recent findings, Sheik's going to shoot up in the tournament ranking. Mark my words.

i thought ganondorf had the strongest spike in the game followed by a sweetspotted zelda spike >.< ness's spike is really strong, but jumping the gun and sayings its the strongest... iunno about that

Can't do that, as long as the Sheik is fast enough, he can be regrabbed or ftilted.

I always go Sheik vs Earthbound Kids. Since spamming needles reduces their projectile game to effectively nothing they are forced to approach. :D
