It actually is possible in Brawl, PMEX Remix is able to have male and female Robin, Corrin, and Wii Fit Trainer with the appropriate voices.

The main problem is that this means each of those fighters has to take up two "slots" in the Clone Engine rather than one like most fighters. Whenever they get to Bowser Jr., he's going to have palette swaps instead of Koopaling alts so he doesn't have to take up eight slots as a result.
Oh, that’s cool. I haven’t messed with Brawl mods since before Smash 4 came out so I’m pretty out of date with any recent advancements.

I know this has been said many times before, but I hope character support threads will open back up as soon as the next game is announced or teased, because I really don't wanna have to read and argue the same bull**** over and over again.
Until the connection to smash bros is reestablished via official announcement, we are stuck with stale energy for now. Speculation is more on sparks and fumes without proper fuel to ignite the hype train.

Characters applying to come as newcomers to Super Smash Bros. 6.

Since you can't see what the person sitting at his desk is saying, I'll write you what he's saying to them: In your turn please, we don't guarantee that all of you will come as newcomers to Super Smash Bros. 6.

Will there be any character in the future that wouldn't require clone engine?

Tried my hand at another illustrated move set like I did for Oatchi awhile back, this time for Tom Nook. Since there wasn't an official comic to use like there was for Pikmin, the animated-ness of this moveset is probably a lot less vivid but I tried my best with the official renders and art I had access to. Hopefully the images load correctly.

General Stats and Premise
(note: not shown here due to my limited artistic abilities but many of Tom's mainstay moves would utilize the bell bags, such as forward smash and forward/down aerials)

Neutral Special: Pocket Change

Side Special: Savings Swing

Down Special: Furniture Leaf

Up Special: Corporate Ladder

Absolutely perfect, no notes

...okay, one note. If Tom Nook is KO'd, does he lose Bells?

Hmmm I'd think that he would start somewhere in the middle like at balance of 5,000 bells upon respawn. I think that way it sort of incentives the Tom player to go ham on spending at high percentages since being overly conservative with the bells would not do any good.

Him and Mr. Krabs were a pretty blatant inspiration for the moveset lol
I mean it does feel kinda weird that every platform fighter EXCEPT Smash is doing characters like this (with some kind of money mechanic that affects gameplay) when you really think about it lol

Business Casual Man in Slap City, Mr. Krabs in NASB2, Shovel Knight in Rivals of Aether...

Of course Nook would come back with some cash already in his pockets.

The raccoon is such a privileged businessman. :4pacman:

I think part of the reason is that the "resource fighter" archetype kinda already gets used up on characters like Olimar and Robin who's currency is not actually money
