I’m okay with a Fortnite character. My only real issue is that Jonesy is just kind of boring looking in my opinion. That and I prefer characters with deeper personalities. If the character is fun to play and lots of other people would be happy with their inclusion, that’s all that matters.

It doesn’t have to be just him. Like Steve, we have a lot of options from their original lineup.

In general because of the gore and having to age restrict his stream but also having to explain that the games cannot be sold in his own home country.

By that same margin I feel the exact same way about Peppino.

He just feels like a perfect fit for Smash that the only conceivable issue is trying to translate his animations into a 3D model while still feeling like the source material.

Yup, i'm sure Peely, Cuddle Team Leader and Brite Bomber will be alts at very least.
I can already see some of the classic mode congratulations screens for a Fortnite rep:
. Bewear (if it returns as a pokeball) falling in love and trying to cuddle the cuddle team leader or Peely holding a Banana Gun (asuming it returns) while pointing it to Jonesy's head or something silly like that.

I do actually really like a lot of Fortnite’s takes on established characters, particularly the TMNT cast. Are there any original characters that go for more of a cool aesthetic than a goofy and silly one? I’d be down for one of those, though they’d probably be awkward sharing animations with someone like Peely.

Why would someone specifically not want Shantae? Like, I don't particularly care for / have any connection to the series, but if she was added, I'd be pleased to see indie reps get a foot in the door, so to speak.

I'd be moreso referring to the people who would actively dislike Shantae showing up for whatever reason.

Like, as for indie reps, I'd prefer Reimu or Shovel Knight, but I'd be fine with almost any of the big indie names showing up, including Shantae.

It really doesn't. But the old Smash Crusade dev team thought it was "clever" and decided to refer to Goku in such a way along with other non-gaming IP additions like Anakin in very early roster drafts, so people just use it despite the illogical nature of it just because "herp one step further from characters from non-Nintendo game derp".

I'm curious, where did you hear about Anakin being considered? Some of my friends and I have long had a fascination with Crusade's development and I've never heard that one

I was privy to some old information in my time on the older forums.

Old releases had references to Star Wars in like symbol data and it's because Anakin was initially planned as a fighter in the earliest drafts. He was one of the first cuts because they decided to keep Goku the ONLY character of his kind (at least until years and years later with a newer team adding Vegeta).

Fletcher Kane is actually really cool. He’d be my main of the character I’ve seen if he makes it. I think there was a tiger called Oscar who’s pretty cool too. Maybe that’s just my inner TMNT fan talking since they’re both humanoid animals lol.

Okay, yeah. I’m skimming through a bunch of Fortnite skins and there are already a bunch of cool looking characters. I’d be happy to see a lot of these in Smash.

A pit stage from MK could also be pretty fun, although it's likely to be censored in a similar way to the Snes and Genesis without Blood code. I imagine the spikes at the bottom working like Great Cave Offensive, eliminating fighters over 100% and shooting them back upwards if not, although it could also just ko instantly since it's where the blast zone usually is.

Either way, it'd be fun if the Santa Claus easter egg and Blaze fighting in the background were kept, maybe even with an event match where you fight a Green Scorpion on the stage?

Darth doesn't consider independent dev studios with more than 50 employees to be indie. As far as I know, WayForward has at least 200 employees and they're still considered an independent company.

The number of employees doesn't define whether or not they're an indie company, it's the fact that they're not owned by a AAA company (or any other company) that does.

This feels a little disingenuous. The two chapters of Deltarune currently out are about the same length as Undertale, and the next two chapters are releasing soon and are confirmed to be slightly longer than 1+2. Deltarune's release schedule is weird - I would say it's closest to seasons of television of all things. If Multiversus was still going, saying "We can't add a Euphoria character until the show's done" would be a bit ridiculous, wouldn't it?

Like, there's plenty of fighting games that go "used a powerful enough move / tossed your opponent through a wall? the stage changes". It's a bit odd that there's not really anything like that in the game built around launching your opponents hard and far to KO them.

I can totally see the Guilty gear stage of Sol bad guy or another guilty gear character to work like that since that’s a big mechanic in Guilty gear strive.

Yeah "disconfirm" is a real word at least, though using a character name as the subject with it is still suspect given the definition. For example, you might say something like "the phlogiston theory has been disconfirmed" but probably shouldn't technically say something like "Bobby Scales has been disconfirmed," again with the name of a person or character as the subject. But, like, it's simply accepted community slang to say things like "do ATs disconfirm characters?" or "Skull Kid was deconfirmed for Smash Ultimate." So not worth tying yourself up in knots over such technicalities.

I feel like that's probably because in traditional fighting games, there's just the launcher and the launched, essentially.

In Smash though, you can have up to four players and a number of Assist Trophy characters and Pokemon and the like, so it'd be kinda weird that one person gets launched and suddenly everyone else changes the stage they're on with no involvement on their end.

Yes, there's plenty of cool original skins, but i don't think they have much of a chance to be included as alts, there's Dire for example, but i doubt they're adding him as he's not as iconic popular as others.

Oh yeah? Well I had a dream about Smash last night too. It involved the new Smash featuring...special animations for Mii Fighters if they have both the corresponding wig/hat and outfit for a Mii costume...and the example used is that a Mii Brawler wearing the Jacky Bryant wig and outfit would have his idle animation. Oh, and Waluigi was announced as a playable character too.

But anyway what would be better ideas for the former concept my dream had?
