I mean, it'd be very understandable why they were picked. They easily would get the most attention and artwork regarding what costumes they are given looks at the attention Peach and Daisy's costumes are getting from fans are the most popular characters of the franchise.
Nonsense, I haven’t seen them commissioned as elephants yet.

imagines this going full circle and someone gets commissioned to redo Ultimate's boxart, but everyone's an elephant

Ya know, I don't particularly like most of the elephant designs, but this would be pretty funny.

So this:

But instead, Everyone Is An Elephant!

Mario really is the king of "New-found Interests", isn't it?

Do we know if the Switch 1 pro controllers work on the Switch 2? I know they don’t have the camera button but I was never going to use that feature anyways.
I think original Joy-Cons can be paired to the system, since the game compatibility page mentions that since Switch 2 Joy-Cons don't have an IR sensor, you'd have to use original Joy-Cons to play games like WarioWare Move It on Switch 2.

So if Joy-Cons can be paired to it, I imagine Pro Controllers could too.

Fair enough.

Okay, I looked hard enough. Nobody’s done it yet. :mybodyisreggie:
You didn't look everywhere. You certainly haven't looked on Planet X. :4wario2:
Though you can't anyway, because of now needing an account. Though you could use that site that keeps tabs on posts, mimics it or whatever it does to get past the log-in restriction.

Speaking of whom... legit hoping for folks like Mona, 9-Volt, Ashley, and some other WarioWare characters too. Out of curiosity, do you all think they'll be treated like Link, Isabelle, and the other 'guest racers'?

I don't know, I can see Nintendo going out of their way to pull this on any and all Wario characters (Non-Ware Wario characters included).
Nintendo in-house team doesn't consider them mario characters so probably.

Mario is a fictional video game in WarioWare, meaning that it takes place on a different universe.
Considering microgames like Burying the Hatchet from Twisted/Gold and Wario's description of it saying "I normally hate that guy", I'd assume they're in the same universe, but it's kinda funny to me that the only time Wario's side series have ever really melded together (outside of Wario Land microgames in 9-Volt's bunch obviously) is Superstar Baseball where his bio says he's both Mario's rival and childhood friend and he runs a game company and has made several best sellers, but his home field is a desert palace with two Cyclone Generators from Wario World's Pecan Sands in the infield lol

That said, definitely wouldn't mind a Wario "crossover" for Mario Kart. Let me drive through Diamond City as a course, finally bring back Wario Colosseum, maybe something based on a Land game like the Golden Pyramid or something...

The way that I interpret the WarioWare + Rhythm Heaven universe (in my headcanon anyway) is that Mario games are metafictional, but Mario is real, and Mario and Wario are essentially actors who do some kind of acting for Nintendo games. The other WarioWare characters are basically absolute nobodies, hence why they never show up in Mario games.

I am also forced to assume that Wario and Waluigi do not like each other in “real life” and are forced to tolerate each other for their acting gigs, hence why Waluigi never appears in WarioWare (although, on the other hand, Mario and Wario’s rivalry is real, or at least it is from Wario’s perspective.)

I always assumed that Wario and Waluigi only met each other because Wario wanted a tennis partner.

It’s stated that they aren’t related unlike the Mario Brothers so it’s possible.

Devil's advocate here, Tears of the Kingdom was $10 more than usual for a Switch game, but didn't have any DLC (actually making it cheaper to have the complete TOTK experience than the complete BOTW one). The thought's crossed my mind that MKWd could be the same (or have free dlc like Splatoon and the Switch Mario Sports games). I wouldn't count on it, but i think it's a possibility.
I don't think using literally a single game is a good enough amount to set a pattern.

For all we know, they could also hike up DLC prices for their 80 dollar games.

If it means anything, some of the devs said that they consider Wario and Waluigi to be just partners, or more specifically, "co-workers who only cooperate with each other when their goals are the same".

Sources here, here, and here (that third one is a Google drive link of an image, so)

In other words, historians would say they were very close friends.

OK that whole chain was the funniest thing I've seen all day. I'm ded.

It might of been a "this is how we view the characters" rather than a cannon explanation, but even if so you're right on the money, as this was the explanation given for how Mario's spinoffs are possible: Mario and company are stage actors who have roles to play in each series, which is how Mario can kill Bowser in New Super Mario Bros. and then go kart racing with him in Mario Kart 7.

I just had a serious consideration in regards to the Gamecube NSO games on Switch 2.

We know Soul Calibur 2 and F-Zero GX will obviously be playable locally and online since they're games built for that sort of thing.

My question that I just considered a bit ago: Since Wind Waker is also coming on launch day, if you play the game online with a friend, will your friend be able to mess with the Tingle Tuner's functionality?

That really depends on how they will handle GBA functionality for the Gamecube. But yeah, while Wind Waker has nothing too important(though unlike Wind Waker HD, the Tingle Tuner is absolutely required for the Tingle Statues), the question about potential missing content definitely comes more into play in regards to Four Swords Adventure, which required multiple GBAs for multiplayer, and Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, which required the GBA Advance Tour game to unlock 2 additional characters for Toadstool Tour and unlocked bonus characters for Advance Tour.

To be fair, I always figured that video game characters in general followed the 'logic' of what Wreck-It-Ralph showed us (that they're all just 'on-the-clock' actors and all).

So, side note... I recently took another look at Drag x Drive earlier today. While I think Nintendo still REALLY needs to give that game a good deal more of that 'Nintendo sauce', I'm definitely starting to warm up to the designs a bit more, generic as they may be. Ngl, I wasn't too big on this when they were first revealed, but the Excitebiker/Mach Rider combo design is really starting to endear me to these guys more than before.

That said? Yeah, I'm more open to these guys being playable in Smash 6. Still though, I really hope Nintendo has more to offer with these guys than the bare minimum we've gotten so far...

Also, speaking of late bloomers — if you're grinding through the midgame in Lineage 2 Interlude, check out https://portal.sacralium.game/artic...a-farma-na-urovne-51-75-v-lineage-2-interlude . Might not be Nintendo, but the boss design still slaps.

Haha, yeah, after Wreck-It-Ralph you look at a lot of gaming conventions differently

Surely someone at Nintendo has to know that these prices are not affordable for families, right? The main demographic of their systems?

Nintendo's biggest advantage over the competition was their affordability, and now that it's out the window I can't imagine people are nearly as willing to pick up the system.

...can't say they don't deserve it though. I'm actively hoping for poor sales (after the day 1 sell-outs of course) cause these guys need to be humbled for their corporate greed. 80 dollars is too much for video games and they need to be reminded of that.

Keep in mind that these are Canadian prices, so the number is higher but the value is roughly the same. For example:

Switch 2: $455.15
Mario Kart World: $79.47
Donkey Kong Bananza: $72.24
Joy-Con 2 Pair: $90.30
Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip: $36.12
Joy-Con 2 Strap: $14.44
Nintendo Switch 2 Camera: $50.57

Granted, that's still high; $90 for a controller is utterly ridiculous and $14 for a strap is laughable, but 100 Canadian is not 100 USD, the effects of inflation on Canada's economy, and taxes notwithstanding. In fact, I've heard there are areas where everything is $10 higher in Canada, which would mean that $100 Joy-Cons are going to be a thing in some parts of the world. Yikes.

That all being said, the prices of these peripherals is basically daylight robbery, and it's doesn't get better with US prices:

Switch 2: $449.99
Mario Kart World: $79.99
Donkey Kong Bananza: $69.99
Joy-Con 2 Pair: $94.99
Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip: $39.99
Joy-Con 2 Strap: $13.99
Nintendo Switch 2 Camera: $54.99

I am going to hope and pray that I do not need another controller for this thing because there is no world in which they should be more expensive than even the AAAA games.
