I expected them to give it a better score but still the score is not bad.....but the complaints were extremely stupid so I don't consider this much of a good review since the site's not that popular
I just hope ign and gamespot gives it a better score.
IGN already said that they weren't going to give it the same score or higher than Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3. Seems a little bit too early, if you ask me. In my honest opinion, none of these people should be reviewing the Japanese version of the game.

Just because a stage is original in terms of stage design doesn't make it good. I could make a stage without a floor and it would be original.
I never said they were good stages, I was just defending why they were picked as examples of original stages. They could have picked FD and Temple if they wanted to show good stages, but they didn't. Their problem was with uniqueness, not quality.

SEPARATED AT BIRTH?!?!?!

Seriously though, I never understood why people get all worked up about neagative game reviews. They're just one guy's opinion, right? But for some reason when someone critiques Brawl I find myself in a blind rage. :dizzy:

Erm I don't think this review is negative. I would love to see how ign tear this game to pieces. Remember that in E for All they said they loved it. I love IGN though.

LOL. Two characters that ground-pound = TEH SAEM! I don't get this review. "Great game! It's nothing new! 9.3! The Kirby-like SSE is boring!"

I wonder if they read over that review themselves and saw just how odd it was?

IGN's reviewing procedure confuses me. They kiss a game's *** during their previews and hands-on experiences, then crap all over it in the review. Take NiGHTS. They loved it, then gave it a 6/10.

Anybody who is seriously somehow angered by this review should rethink their lives.
how about this. stop thinking you sound smart and cynical and think about this in the long term. Harsh reviews means less sales and less sales means less of a chance for SSB4. I'm sick of you sounding like you have a huge **** up your ***.

Easy Chewy. This review may be a bit confusing (Bowser and Dedede the same?!) but they still recomend buying it. I also doubt a single review could put a dent in the hype for this game.

Also, there's no reason we all can't be civil...

man im tired of these stupid online reviews...
they get people who dont even play the game half as in depthly as any of us to play it once and then say how they feel... when we dont want to here the nub opinion. They keep looking for the flaws, they say how brawl isnt innovative, was halo 3 innovative? or was it halo 2.5, just like brawl is melee.5 why change a game when nothings wrong with it? im tired of over opinionated negative nancies...

It's all good until they mention how Dedede is very similar to Bowser.

That's just...no. They're both big. You would think at least 2 characters in a cast of 35 would be large, wouldn't you?

I agree change at always the best, I would be dissapoined if they made the stages 3d or something like that, why fix whats not broken?

Also why are they complaining about SSE, what other fighting games have a good story mode like Brawl?

I believe that not enough people are looking at this game objectively. Everyone seems to be looking for things that Sakurai "missed" instead of looking at all he's given us. Inversely, there seem to be a lot of fanboys rejecting anything less than a 100% review, which honestly seems a liiiitle unreasonable. Is the game perfect? For me, it will be (stage editor plus my wishlist filled out). But there ARE some people that take it upon themselves to try and discern why it "isn't" perfect.

The game is probably worth something around a 9.5 for everyone everywhere. I can't say since I haven't actually touched it, but if we just eliminate the fanboyism, the trolls, and IGN, we can see the game for just how good it REALLY is.

This review isn't objective enough. I can't discredit it for that reason, because everyone has a liiiitle bias in them, but I won't exactly be referring to it nor will I be offended in any way by it.

They would have to be smacked in the head to not be able to tell the difference between Dedede and Bowser's fighting style...

That's ****ing stupid

And, the great thing about Brawl is... you actually CAN make a stage with no floor if you want to.
No you can't, there has to be a floor/platform (even if two very small ones, love it when I see computers spawn and fail to jump on the platforms and die, lol.)

I, like many of you out there, don't care about reviews for games I will definitely get. So whatever score or/and comments Smash receives from reviewers don't matter. It's the fact that I love the game and enjoy playing it that matters.

Like Mario Party. They keep getting bad reviews "more of the same" etc...but I don't care, I still buy the game and love playing them with my family :)

Um...Kirby, Yoshi and Bowser? I CERTAINLY would not describe Pokemon Trainer as such.

Also, King Dedede is NOT anywhere CLOSE to being like Bowser, aside from being a heavyweight...

I havnt even played a signle match or subspace level yet, and just from common sense i know:

Bowser =/= Dedede
Squirtle =/= Yoshi
Charizard =/= Bowser
Ivysaur =/= Kirby
Ike =/= Link =/= Pit

and Awesome new creative Brawl stages >>>>>>>>>>> crappy moving stuff like Brinstar and Big Blue

This is a casual review. NOT ELITIST! NGamer is a great magazine. Of course the game couldn't get 10/10. They're saving that for SSB4. lol

I like playing casual better than competitive honestly. I know how to wavedash and l-cancel and all that good stuff, but I just find casual more fun. And I still think this review is pisswipe.

You know, I was really surprised about what they said about the stages. I mean, wut? I'm shocked they didn't declare "Bring Poke Floats back!" (And that would have been a good idea)
New stages like the Ice Climbers one and Halberd look awesomefun. What other fighter has stuff like this? Let me tell you, none, or I'd be playing them.

I've never even heard of Ngamer, the only ones I pay attention to are gamestop, ign, nintendo power, and gametrailers.

Yeah, they must be SO proud beating on brawl and being the first to give it less than a 10, they probably can't accept that it's the greatest game of all time.

"And then there's the roster. The 'everything but the kitchen sink' approach to development pays off brilliantly elsewhere, but has left a bloated cast that struggles to hide the basic character types each fighter boils down to.

This is a fairly intelligent obversation simply because the roster does feel like the only thing they didn't go all out on...

Signature moves aside, it's hard to see where Dedede differs from Bowser, and if Link, Ike and Pit weren't programmed by the same guy, we'll eat our sword flurry.

And this is where the article loses almost any form of creditbility what-so-ever. :laugh:
