You're free to not like it. Nobody is saying otherwise. Using language like "Garfield is cringe" and "Odie would be a waste of a slot" is toxic.
Ironic that you bring that up considering how toxic you were during that exchange, what with the calling me a genocidal maniac at and all that. And you also prove that you misunderstood the whole point of the debate. It wasn't about having him in the game. It was about the bullying people have to deal with just for being fans of the series and liking it nowadays.
SpongeBob really does have a lot of good choices honestly. The Jellyfish are already confirmed, but Anchovies, Nematodes, or even the graveyard skeletons from the Soda Drink Hat episode would all be great.Perhaps the Anchovies?

Even if I don't like a character I'd like them to be represented properly as a character. It's why I think Roy's portrayal in Smash is kinda trash, even if I like playing him. Sonic too, though his is for lack of variety. He has plenty of abilities beyond spindashing.

Sugar rush might be odd but personally I love moves that can accelerate, and I think garfield could easily be a pocket for me. I think regardless of how some people feel about the move or loss of pooky, there's just so much to enjoy about his rep.
I'm still tempted not to visit as much because of the negativity on the board, but obviously people can have whatever opinion they want, so that's why I take it on myself to try to pace or read others' posts, people can say what they want, though I encourage talking about it more personally if someone doesn't like something, as in 'I' don't like or find a certain character doesn't fit, etc. It's always easier to appreciate opinions when they're more directly clear about it being a personal take.
Not sure if there's any pattern for who's revealed when. I just hope to see Jenny or Korra soon

Next showcase wise? I mean at this point outside of Korra the characters that are left are either unrevealed or ones I'm interested in playing properly. Danny, Lucy, Reptar, Rocko, Zim, Jenny, Ember...

I wouldn't count out the possibility of Nick execs not approving things till the last minute. I'll be expecting two each week, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have to play catchup at some point.
