Outside of a privileged few, none of us have seen anything that could be considered credible evidence. With that in mind, it seems foolish to confidently declare one way or the other the legitimacy of these rumors (they still don't qualify as leaks in my book).

I must recognize and admit that the only reason I held more faith in Shovel Knight being real is personal bias - not for the character, but for the source. It was brought to our attention by people I know and respect within the community (and that won't change if it turns out to be false - that goes for local supporters of either leak). Likewise, my primary reasons for doubting Inklings is because of the way the information was handled - or, should I say, blatantly preyed upon for the sake of adding to certain people's Twitter follower counts.

However, when I set aside those biases, I see very little difference outside of the character being leaked; Both are rumors that started on Twitter and came with zero evidence for the public to gauge our own opinions on. I'm speaking of course from the outside looking in - no doubt, the details behind them are probably very different.

No matter what happens though, I'll remain deeply disappointed in this chapter of leaks history. Protecting the source is one thing, but hiding the information just so it can be dangled over our heads and capitalized upon is nothing short of despicable and insulting. It doesn't feel good to be left out when discussing leaks is what we're all here to do, but more importantly we've all been put through an incredibly stressful and embarrassing situation, and it seems to have been done for primarily selfish reasons.

I guess I can see the issue with that, but at the same time, it's not unusual that a Pokémon of a group was largely unpopular and/or rated lowly because of how poor it fared compared to others. Meganium for instance tends to rate lowly in general partially because it's the least impressive starter for a lot of fans even though its line's adorable, so it's not out of place for her to rate it lowly because of how it is in terms of the group. Having said that, I will agree that it's still not a strong critique and she could've assessed it better, which is a problem with her video in general.

As for the video you posted, I did agree with a lot of the critiques that your video pointed out. I do feel they got a bit nitpicky in some areas (which I can't completely blame them for, the video they're reviewing is nitpicky in general), but they do ultimately explain their points well and how both youtubers didn't do as good a job explaining why they weren't as fond of their five picks.

As for the current rumor, I'm just casually watching at this point. I don't see too much reason to believe it yet as the information is sparse on it and there's little to go off of so far, but it's still plausible and as mentioned before, at least we have a timeframe at the moment.

I don't remember what TP said about Meganium against Tamashii, but Brandon's complaint about how it's the worst starter judging by gym leaders made TP point out that's false, including the fact that the Meganium line learns Reflect around the time you fight Whitney

Tama's main source for the SK rumor was right about Fallout 4's Pip Boy edition, Skylanders being a vehicle based game, the fact that Amazon would be selling Nintendo DLC codes, and the development of a Zombi U port to other consoles. That's reason to give the rumor time of day, but in the end, even accurate sources can make mistakes/get a hold of bad info.

Not sure if all of those have ever been determined to be from the same source.

While to each his own, I see literally no reason why it wouldn't 'work well'. XD It's be a Prime game. Only with the general areas and bosses and plot of Super Metroid, changed into a 3D world. I can't see what is standing in the way of that working just as well as all the other Prime games.

But anyways. Link wore it better. He always does. And random, but Hyrule Warriors Link is the most gorgeous male character I have ever seen in a game. His official artworks are amazeballs.
