Yea, I think thats a good plan. I dont think they have suites tho but its whatever. To singles could work as well.
4 days thurs-sunday nights?
with 12 ppl its about 43.3 dollars at a price of 65 a night. So I think 50 bucks give or take.
I guess tomorrow Ill call the Prime and see if he was able to reserve anything.

Hi Rak, kaos pretty much summed it up, but we try to hold smashfests at our apartment every friday.

People usually start coming around 5 or 6 pm and leave when they get tired lol
ALSO, regarding genesis housing. Me and Lorin booked a single last night, and it's going to be under Lorin's name. When we asked for pricing the first time the front desk person said that the genesis discount rates were expired and that singles went back to the normal 65/day. But, calling back a day later a different front desk person told us that the genesis deal was still running - so we booked it at the 52/day rate. If anyone else tried booking singles and they told you it's 65/day then try arguing with them lol, or call back at a different time.

We have the room thursday night to monday night. Toph is arriving at SFO thursday at 10 am i think, and me/dusl are arriving at around 1 pm. I want toph to wait for us at the airport so that you can pick the three of us up in one trip.
Also, toph and dusl would prefer if we kept the room to just us four. Since toph is coming from singapore he's going to have a big suitcase of stuff and he said he would like the extra space and not worry about things getting lost. And dusl gets bed priority since the reservation is under his name lol.

But the Canadians (more specifically Alberta, aka right beside BC) are hosting a big tournament after Genesis, we want a lot of OOS / OOP smashers and we want WA to come lol

Hey Guys
So me and toph and dusl went down to get some bubble tea the other day and one of the guys that works there asked if we played melee and we said yea. Turns out he knows HugS and used to play with some socal randoms a long time ago, so he has some exposure to the melee scene.
He was thinking that it might be possible to actually run small tournaments at Oasis (the bubble tea place). A lot of you know that we have friendlies at our apartment every friday, but this could be a step up. He said it could be biweekly, or monthly, and that maybe something small such as a 5$ entry fee for singles with a 2-3$ fee for the venue could start something. He mentioned that people could get in for free if they brought setups. All of this is very tentative (prices, how often it'll run, etc) and that he would have to talk to the owner of the place to see if this would be possible. So far we were just thinking about melee tournies, but brawl could be possible too. The venue is located in seattle udistrict on university way and 45th.
All of this sounds really cool to me. It'll be good for Oasis as a buisness plus it's in a local place so that smash gets a ton more exposure. I sure as hell wouldn't mind the extra tournaments in western WA, and all we would have to do is just plan stuff around gameclucks/sylers or whatever. Probably wont be as big, but we can give it time.

Kip said he wants to get a head count to see how many people would be interested, so shoot him an email. Or i could just see how many people would be interested through swf and tell him an estimated number, either way works.

Teddy and I 2-0'd Lovages team in melee (<3 his fox), tied for 2nd in our pool only being outplaced by Mango + Lucky, and we nearly eliminated Shroomed and Julian from the doubles bracket. (They placed 5th overall, and we lost to them losers round 4 last hit last game)
And the Jem in singles pools isn't me, for anyone wondering. I somehow got signed up for Melee singles, and since I never paid for it, they DQ'd me and put I 0-2'd vs everyone.

Hey guys I am new to the forum and just seeing how big the smash community is around seattle. I don't have any friends that still play Melee so I have only been able to fight the computer which has resulted in me being quite bad. Are there any regular events that happen on maybe a weekly or bi-weekly event where people just meet up and play friendlies?
