I suspect Vish will not mind driving to this since it's a bigger tournament. But who knows.
I suspect the opposite. I dont think he likes driving that far. and if Im not mistaken he feels the same way I would about taking his fathers car to Canada(nothing against Canada, just an added responsibility he might not want).

Not that he wouldnt want to go.

Edit: I mean the way I would feel if I was taking my dads car, not stealing Mr. Rajkumar's lol.

Hm yeah, I keep forgetting that it's not actually Vish's car. His parents might have an objection.

Well, I'm down to Greyhound I GUESS. I've Greyhound'd before, it was like 3 years ago hahah and it was pretty fun. 17 hour distance across the upper East Coast for a Bemani music game tournament/convention. It was my only time stopping in New York City too...

Alright, so at this point I'm like 90% sure I'm going to be too busy with work to make BC Plays Melee. :(

Sorry about that. Good luck making it up there, and placing well, and so on.

Okay guys sooooo backup plan? Greyhound is $28 one way IIRC. The train, which is much more spacious and enjoyable is $35 one way IIRC. Unless you can find another driver, those are your two main options.

I talked to him. He said he's down for bus/train. But I guess we won't know for sure till the time comes. Btw I think you guys can get a discount if you book your greyhound tix asap. I know online they offer discounts for two weeks in advance up to a day/few days in advance. Not sure about the specifics on that though. I would check the site. Not sure about discounts for the train either. :/

That would be tight.

but the problem with us hosting tourneys, just seems we dont have a legit venue that is low to no cost.

We should look into finding a spot we can get our smash on and it wont cost an arm and a leg.

Cuz we really need to have tourneys aside from just the 1x month GC.

i dont see why you guys dont use your college's free rooms like every other smash community
UW is strict on events. Money can't directly be exchanged during the event even though a smash tourney is technically non-profit - they still dont care lol. To bypass this we would need an official registered club, something that zemek is working on.

None of the dorm rooms allow exchanges of money.

The hub is a place we can hold tourneys but its redics on the price. Like x per hour till 11 pm max, and its double if at least 1 non uw student will be in attendance.

Most college clubs dont allow you to collect money, or non student membership/participation. **** *** free tourney rooms are the result of admins looking the other way and not giving a ****.

My understanding of what zemek is doing is hosting smashfests and console free play tournaments as an event. I do not think non students are suppose to participate.

Basically, being a club will generally get you free rooms, but UW is pretty strict on how they are used, and they dont like to bend. UW is weak sauce anyway

^this^

When i hosted tournies at pierce it was pretty much the same thing, I had to join some club to get free rooms and there wasn't suppose to be exchanging of money but the lady was cool about it and just said keep it on the d/l. Also, the non college student thing i think applied as well but i think that was the only part that was flexible assuming, it wasn't a **** load of people that weren't from the college.

Anyways on a side note, i might be back in WA soon permanently o_0
