Pointless glitch discovered!

So far I've only done this with Toon Link, but I'm sure it works for other characters with
a "during an airdodge" type attack.

Get sent flying upwards (like you know you're going to die a star KO), then airdodge while
flying, and use your chain (A) while airdodging.

You won't go flying off as a star, instead the game will play the animation for dying off the BOTTOM of the screen. Maybe it's because the game assumes when you're trying to tether recover, you're falling?

I have no idea.

Does the chain have to come out? Like you're sent flying upwards but you attack before you die. Or can you just 'attempt' to use the hookshot, and it never comes out.

Does this work with all tethers?

Sorry I can't mke a vid guys, but it's real simple,
go on a mode where you frequently get creamed (my fave is rayquaza intense)
but I've done it on All star-intense on green hill zone too.

One, that isn't at all what this thread is about.

Two, if you consider the camera placement at that particular moment, you may find you can't actually be sure that was even a glitch.

Haha, I was playing with my friend a few hours back and read this topic whilst we took a break. Fun stuff if you want to spawn quicker/skip the annoying animation.

ive done it with toon link, bout it.

On futher testing, it works with Samus as well but NOT zero suit samus or IvySaur.

It is very very easy to do, and really is a lot faster than dying offscreen as a star.
