Our prayers have been answered! The fifth god of Melee, Kevin "PPMD" Nanney, has announced that he will be returning to competitive play on July 1 at Bad Moon Rising 2.
After nearly a year absence from Super Smash Bros. Melee due to health-related concerns, elite player Kevin "EG | PPMD" Nanney returns to the scene, sort of. PPMD has confirmed via a Facebook post that he will only be competing in doubles with Waves' own L0zR, which will be L0zR's final tournament in his Melee career.
PPMD's Announcement on Facebook
When asked about his return back to competitive play, PPMD says, "It should be fun! Im just happy to help the scene a little and do what i can where im at."
It will be a treat for fans to see one of the most talented and cerebral players grace the game once again. PPMD will also play friendlies and interact with fans while at the tournament.
Originally known for his efficient Falco play ruthlessly efficient Marth, the fearsome duo helped him secure back-to-back Apex titles in 2014 and 2015. Though he struggled to remain dominant in late 2015 and beyond, this was largely due to the problems he was having outside of the game. Now that he has the confidence in his health to return to play, we can only wait for that PPMD has for us when he return to singles gameplay.
