Tho I have to admit, I've pondered on multiple occasions if Sm4sh actually would suit me better. I'm too invested in Melee and PM to switch though.
And I mean emotionally invested, since I suck and don't even have all that real mains and stuff.

Done with the local monthly.

The tournament was a bo5 round robin of 6 players, 4 of whom only play melee on the side, 1 who plays mostly Sm4sh but used to focus on melee and 1 PM and melee player (me). There was some other PM player too, but he had to leave early.

I went all Falco and autopilot steamrolled the 4 non-melee players.
The match vs the other not terrible guy was super fun though. He's the TO and plays Puff.
Game 1 we go BF. I'm not missing my tech skill and feel good. I almost 0-to-death him for starters but he keeps it even with some edgeguards and we go neck to neck. After he takes my second stock he gets a rest. I bring it back though, dair tech chases OP. Last stocks situation I lose control and %s are like 120 to 10. He messes up an edgeguard and I bring it to evenish, but can't close it out and he takes game 1.
Game 2 I CP Yoshi's. I get a lead and keep it for the whole game, getting a 2-stock. I notice I Dsmash lots but he's not punishing them well and most of my kills come off of it.
Game 3 we go DL. It's even, but once he takes my 3rd stock I freeze or something and he gets a 2-stock.
Game 4 in Stadium. Pretty even, perhaps slightly my favor. Rock transformation comes up right as I lose a stock and I go in with invul. I get thrown off stage but dj to airdodge saves me. Scrambe ends with my dair spike. In the end the game goes to last stock but I finish it.
Last game we go back to BF. Right off the bat he pretty much 0-to-deaths me. I don't get discouraged tho, and take 2-stocks pretty convincingly. Once we both are on our 3rd stocks he gets a grab that I don't DI, but like the last pixel of the platform saves me. My punish is weak though, since by now he remembered to DI shine to dj falling dair away. I get a massive % lead though and in the end I finish it on the last stock, low percent.

He played pretty bad tbh. Subpar punishes and stuff. I don't think he punished a single roll from. On the other hand I played pretty well. My punishes were good, my mental game was ok, and those few read movement to WD in Dtilt kills were godlike, if I say so myself. I so think Falco carried me very hard today though, especially his dair. I got a lot of mileage out of late nairs.

First singles tournament under the belt. Woo! That feeling you get after winning a close set is so good. I got 7€ for winning after 4€ entry, so this is also the first time a tournament was profitable for me in that way, lol.

Funny how for the past week I've been mostly getting my ass handed to me on netplay and have felt very unconfident.

Now to actually get good.

It's funny, the wind chill was like at -37 C, but when there was no wind I felt strangely comfortable. Glad that it makes up for my very low heat tolerance.
