How old do you have to be to participate?

I know that's very general, but I just want to know, because I'm thinking of searching for one, and I don't know if there is an age requirement or not.
Don't laugh, I've just never been to a tournament, or seen one, and I'm talking about the ones like at gamestop/ gamecrazy, just places like that.
I think I have what it takes to win, but the age is what I'm concerned about.
Again, just seeing if there even is one, or how old you have to be.
Thanks.......maybe, I don't know if you'll reply, so......yeah.
All up to you.

Generally, there's no requirement beyond "do you have the entry fee and a controller?"
The gamestop tournaments, however, have no such fee or controller requirements, and have instead replaced them with a 13+ age restriction. Also, anyone under 18 needs a parent to sign forms.

Then I'm in the clear, I'm 14.
Maybe I should post some of my battles on youtube.

But, yeah, thanks.
All I needed.

I'm more concerned about being too old

Honestly the game is intended for people like you, so don't worry.

Sweet, I can't wait.....

And what's that supposed to mean?/sarcasm
Everyone thinks that this is for the younger generation, but it's really for everyone......
Not trying to yell at you, or anyone else.....
=I

But yeah, I wonder if I have the skills.....
I've studied the way that pros and others play, and sometimes, it's not too different.
By looking at my combos and approach, coupled with my fair knowledge of utilizing Ats, I think that I might come at least 4th or 2nd in a tournament.
I don't want 3rd, it rhymes with terd....
=(

Sorry to break it to you, but if you'd go to a major tournament, you won't be getting anywhere near the top 5. Probably not even if the top half of the bracket if you get some ****ty bracket luck. Not trying to bash on you, but that's just how it is, if you don't have someone very, very good training you, etc.

But yeah, I've seen people anywhere from 9 to 30 (or older) at tournaments. So no, unless specifically stated, there's no age requirement. But with the Gamestop tourneys, I suppose there is.

I think he's talking about his gamestop tournament.

If no one good shows up, his statement is quite realistic.

I'm good at 1 on 1, but if people team up on me, then I have trouble.
Like earlier, I was battling my cousins, they were on their own team, friendly fire off.
So, they pick Yoshi and Pichu.
I pick Falco.
It took me a good long while to take them down, but I did.
10 lives.
Anyhow, I had alot of trouble getting ack on the ledge; Pichu was Fsmashing.
So, after a lot of recoveries, I decided to go over him.
That's his weakness.

This has nothing to do with tournaments, just figured I'd post.

And I MIGHT make it far in a tournament.
It depends on who my opponents are, and their strategy.
It would take me about one KO to figure it out, but hopefully less.

But yes, I think that I would'nt be the first one out.

OK, since you did mean that you might make it far in a tournament, let me just tell you now: you won't. Not in a big one that has any good/decent players.

I don't feel like arguing, so don't try, but it's true.

How good you do vs. your friends means nothing.

Look behind you...
funny how you think your good. just to let you know its only the starting characters for the gamestop tournament so make sure you know how to use them. and unless you play a lot theirs little chance of you getting past the second round unless your lucky. im prob only gettin to the second but i dont care i play for fun.

Why do you say that?
Brawl should actually be easier to play, because of stalled movement, and no
Wavedashing/L canceling will make it easier to beat others.

Not saying that I WILL make it far, but I'm just saying that Brawl should not be too hard, considering I live in Jackson, and the majority of players I've met stink.
Now, I know that there are a select few, but there seems to be a lack of talent, and determination in our city.
I know because no one I know really cares to play, they just spam buttons and lose.

In other news, I just got beat by my cousins, they continually used projectiles, and I forgot Falco has a reflector.
But, afterwards, I came back with Marth, and owned.
