Honestly, everyone here gets anxious every now and then. Some even needed a break to settle it down. Of course, it is up to you how it's dealt with.

Now, it is true that Smash Ultimate's DLC is more on a marketing standpoint as each character present so far has gotten a lot of people buying the pass for that character regarding if he/she was a favorite or not. Sure there was Byleth, but people eventually came around after the initial reveal weeks later.

On challenger 9 reveal, I see that March may be the hot month since more announcements are happening for the beginning of Spring. Plus, I think Nintendo will let the Pokemon company and another Indie Direct go first on February as the past presentation dates show (With Pokemon Day happening this month on Feb 27.).

Yeah. This is why it’s ok to have my own feelings, opinions and beliefs about feeling over Shantae for Smash.

Everyone has their opinion. You don't have to apologize for having yours, but sometimes there's more going on. And others will have different opinions, and it's not disrespect if they do. Everyone's free to have their view. :p

At this point I'm not really banking on any characters, I just stay open and hope it's a character I like. Shantae would be awesome, that's all I know XD

Remember, speculation and predicting the next fighter is near impossible thanks to Sakurai throwing curveballs every reveal. Plus, information about the remaining 3 challengers is locked tight behind Nintendo's vault.

Also, here is a Shantae artwork for today.

Double post
We were talking about anxiety and stress, probably coming from taking these discussions a little too seriously.
Which, again, has nothing to do with opinions.
Like I said, nothing do with it or me

Actually, yes it has.
We were specifically adressing the part, where you spoke about anxiety, stress and a loss of hope or something.
And all we were trying to say here, was to just not worry about this.
To not let all this talk get to you. Especially since it's all meaningless, because the truth is out there and none of us can know about it.
So yeah, just relax and let empty words be empty words.

What did I say? I ignore it, respect that or don’t take it too seriously
I get that but I only messaged about my feelings and beliefs you should respect it. Just say like, “Do what you got to do”. You know. Its just a game I get it but I have my beliefs and you can’t change that. You don’t have to agree with me or anything. Just leave it. Respect my honesty.
The first thing I said was "Do you, boo boo"

I respect that you were honest about wanting to step away from something that is giving you this much anxiety, but you should identify why you're so anxious in the first place. Nothing any of us say or do will change whether or not Shantae is in this fighters pass. Hope that helps a bit.

Anywhoodles, there's a genie in the emoticons. lol 🧞‍♀️

Did we ever discuss Shantae's various animations like sleeping, dizzyness/shield breaking, swimming, victory poses etc.?
I don't think it has been discussed much before (Though her victory poses and taunts have I'm pretty sure), but I think most are pretty obvious choices:
  • Sleeping would have her curled up like her Jammies mode where she sleeps on the cloud.
  • Shield break/dizzy could have her in her 'low health' state but with a more dizzying look in her face and rocking a bit back and forth.
  • Victory animations/poses would probably be her doing a dance then end in the level complete pose from HGH. Perhaps one with her dancing with the lamp from Pirate's curse. Or maybe one with a dance ending with a transformation of some kind (most likely Monkey form jumping towards the camera like the Seven Sirens opening animation). Honestly quite a few options here. There's also the flame on her finger thing (Risky's Revenge artwork) that'd make a great splash screen or even her original game's cover pose.
  • Her swimming animation is pretty distinct in her games too, so I'm sure they'll be able to adopt that pretty well.
Here's some other possible animations too:
  • For her taunts it would be great to have different dances for each direction that you can chain together as much as you want, Other people suggested this and I really like that idea.
  • I really hope that she'd be able to crawl and actually have the squeaky noise to go with it. Obviously her cat-like ready-to-pounce wiggle may not be missed either.
  • Her ledge hanging poses would hopefully be how she hangs on rings in HGH (Knees out wide, feet together).
  • Another cute reference would be to have her do those panicked steps of the Run Run Rottytops section for when she carries boxes or barrels.
  • Her 'death' animation for Stamina mode could be her explosion-like death (Fading to black and light beams coming off of her).
  • Getting knocked off top-screen and getting the frontside 'death' would be the perfect opportunity to have her smash in to the screen like her Might Switch Force mode. Extra points if the screen actually cracks!
  • Tripping could have her sit on the ground, pinching one eye closed as she rubs her bottom in pain (I couldn't remember what game it was from, perhaps it was concept art).
  • Idle animation could be her adjusting her golden hair-brace thing and her adjusting her top or maybe stretching like she does in some of her dialogue portraits.
Shantae has so many great animations that really make the character, Sakurai would be spoiled for choice! I'm sure Shantae would have the most energetic animations in her kit as well, just as much as Banjo's have a ton of character.

I'd wonder if they'd make Shantae's ponytail a bit physics based and free-flowing (In most cases when the hair is 'not in use'), or simply animate it along with the rest of her animations. I'd love to see it flow freely, but that might be tricky. There's ways of having it flow like that without getting tangled up ofcourse and I think it'd be really worth it in her case.

Despite me not being super hyped for Banjo, I ended up really loving him and watching his presentation several times. I loved his animations just that much and I'm sure with the magic Smash touch it's going to be twelve-fold for Shantae for me!

One of the victory poses has to end with her spinning in the air endlessly, it was her standard for three games.

The controlled dancing can just be one taunt (while being able to transform if you happen to remember the old combinations), another could be like like Pac-Man's roulette and transform randomly into forms for poses... including other Wayforward stars.

I wouldn't get my hopes up too much for a death animation, Megaman's is just overlayed on top of the standard animation, in both cases. Think more Shantae falling into a pit or touching spikes, just with sparkles instead of orbs (although that could also end being what she uses as that was her old death animation).

Wouldn't the glass shattering and obscuring the screen more be annoying for those still active (and only really make sense if punched by Giga Bowser?). I see the Screen KO more as her "cold" pose from Pirate's Curse.

So over the weekend, I've been playing Half-Genie Hero, managed to complete the main story and get the good ending, and are currently working on Pirate Queen's Quest right now, and honestly? I loved the game!

The gameplay was fun, and I liked that they not only brought back the three transformations from Risky's Revenge (complete with their extra moves), but they added several new ones (I particularly like the Spider and Mouse transformations). I also liked how the transformation process felt a lot quicker here compared to Risky's Revenge. I didn't really mind the shift to more traditional platforming as opposed to the Metroidvania style the previous two games had, the levels were fun (with Cape Crustacean and Hypno Baron's Castle being my favorites), and the bosses were fun as well (the fights with the Barons and Risky Boots/Shantae being standouts). Finally, while the game wasn't too big on story, the dialogue was still fun, and there were quite a few funny moments!

I guess my only criticism (at least, for the main story mode), is that I thought that girl who replaced Shantae as Scuttle Town's hero was going to have a bigger role in the game, but it didn't really amount to much, and I didn't really care much for her.

Overall, the game was fun and I'm looking forward to playing Seven Sirens now!

Oh, and something I forgot to mention in my post about Half-Genie Hero: If Shantae gets into Smash Ultimate (either through this Pass or a potential Vol. 3) and "Dance Through the Danger" ISN'T one of the songs included, I will be EXTREMELY disappointed!

That song's too amazing to not include, remix or otherwise!

Hell, if she does get in, I can see that song being used for her reveal trailer!

I'm honestly hoping that we get a Terry situation if Shantae makes it. Too many amazing tracks in her games, most of which fit Smash well because of the high energy to them.

I'm more curious if they'd actually add Cristina Vee's cover of Lifelight, ghehe XD

The spider form isn't really new, so much as redesigned from it's original form in GBC. It's cool and my favourite on the aesthetics, but criminally underutilized and not being very good outside of the one required use of it for the good ending.

This game was the Paper Jam of the series, in a good way, being a refreshing twist on the gameplay, even if the story does not follow suit (and incidentally both show their recurring main villains at their nastiest).

I think the first thing half of us are going to do after that Sakurai presentation is immediately crouch to see if Nintendo has the balls to retain that feline animation 1:1.

Adding to this, there are some animations I hope to see alongside this. Like her falling animation referencing the GBC dance parlor "failure". Or the backdash from Risky's Revenge onward being her roll animation. That critical condition "arm holding" animation being her idle animation at 100+%. Better yet, all those idle animations she had prior to Half-Genie Hero, the ponytail tightening, the top readjusting, the works.

FP9 as a March reveal/release still looks incredibly likely in my eyes, so don't be discouraged if Shantae doesn't show up here.
Yeah. If Shantae does get in, I expect her to be a E3 reveal because of being a highly requested character and a big indie icon.

Some are suggesting that maybe Master Chief might be appearing as Challenger 10 due to some rumors of the Master Chief Collection coming to the switch

That is way too far fetched. Steve is already in FP2, and so far we are only getting one character per company in each pass.

Well, Crash Bandicoot 4 is finally coming to the Switch on March 12. Again, looks like March seems like a lot of news will start appearing in Spring.

People rumored the Master Chief collection coming to switch as early as the Switch was released. Same with the Prime Trilogy.

In more Shantae-focused news, the enamel pins are shipping out! I know that because I just got mine.

Having trouble with the image uploading but they’re high quality! Risky’s face is a tiny bit wonky, but other than that they’re vibrant, the tiny details are clear, and they’re solidly built even on thinner parts like arms and legs. Definitely a nice little collector’s item!

I know this is over a month too late, but did anything come of Wayforwards countdown? Did they even make it to 30? Or whatever number it was?

Also, any news from lrg?

The cold Shantae screen ko would do good as most characters attempt to be comedic. It will also prevent the character from attracting unwarranted attention.

The star ko could be here spinning out from the original games. If I had a gif I would... Thinking of the first fight with Risky when it moves to the platforms.

The star KO animation is just tumbling zoomed out, and rotated in Ultimate. The animation you're thinking of also happened with Shantae losing minigames.

I just thought about the Screen KO animation and just realized Shantae could totally pull that pancaked screen crack from Mighty Switch Force.

That'd be a nice little homage to the sister series.
We kind of just discussed the potential problems with that (lingering screen crack distracting players, Shantae's choice of attire possibly giving unintended front row seat to cleavage).

Shantae's outfit and design was left in tact for her spirit, and chances are she wouldn't have any alterations done to her due to her more cartoony look

Well, the screen crack isn't needed as the splat on screen alone is good enough. Also, yes the cleavage may pose a problem, but a few adjustments could avoid it.

Of course, there will always be those people that complain about her inclusion should she enter.
