Though still fairly new to the tournament scene, Dyr is already a rising star. At CEO 2016, he clawed his way to 17th place after losing in pools to Samuel "Dabuz" Buzby. He knocked Japanese legend Rain and Floridian powerhouse Justin "Nick Riddle" Lew out before eventually falling to Andrew "ScAtt" Huntley. He also surprised a number of people at EVO 2016, where he put Yuta "Nietono" Uejima and Tyler "Marss" Martins into losers and made top 32 winners side. There too it was Ally who sent him to losers, after which he was eliminated in 17th place again. Could his win over the EVO Champ today be the beginning of a new rivalry? In either case, it sure looks like Dyr will be an even larger threat at Shine and other future majors.

In other news, Matthew "MattDotZeb" Zaborowski has announced a special $40 discount for Shine 2016 registration. You may have already heard that the venue fee will be increasing to $90 at 11:59 p.m. PST tonight. However, attendees of Super Smash Con who drop by the Shine booth will be able to obtain a discount registration code that is valid through Sunday night. This is a great opportunity for those who are currently on the fence about attending, or who are already going and want to save money. You can also get free stickers, purchase merchandise, and even play some Melee while you're there!
