Side B shorten

Sorry for the scrubiness, but I have a few questions regarding shortening Wolf's side b.
First, how long did it take you to consistently shorten?
Second, what length is the most optimal for most situations, and out of what setups?
Third, does the analog stick affect whether or not the side b is shortened?

You meant Brawl, but I think the timing on Wolf Flash shorten did not change from Brawl to PM, although I might be wrong.

This really doesn't give me much of an answer.
Again, the question was:

All this article does is tell me it exists, and that it goes diagonally.

not too long but i'd been playing for a while

its subjective, theres no optimal length
it doesn't affect if its shortened or not but you can angle it up/down 15 degrees
