A killer clown that eats children is darker than Shadow the HedgehogI dunno, Sehn usually has avatars of pretty dark characters, shadow fits Dark more than a clown.
I'm assuming you've never heard of Pennywise then.I dunno, Sehn usually has avatars of pretty dark characters, shadow fits Dark more than a clown.

Shadow is more beloved and recognizeable than a killer clown.I'm assuming you've never heard of Pennywise then.
But that's not what I'm getting at.Shadow is more beloved and recognizeable than a killer clown.
There are a lot of things darker than Shadow the Hedgehog. Just saying.I dunno, Sehn usually has avatars of pretty dark characters, shadow fits Dark more than a clown.
Have you ever played his game, Frosty? It does a perfect job of making the post I'm quoting look like a kindergarten research paper. There are a lot of things darker than Shadow the Hedgehog. Just saying.
If you think Shadow is dark, you have yet to embrace true darkness.
I have. All I can say is that game was trying too hard to be dark and edgy.Have you ever played his game, Frosty? It does a perfect job of making the post I'm quoting look like a kindergarten research paper.

This is funny coming from a college student that has a figurative hard-on for an anthropomorphic bat. One that's usually poorly drawn, at that.Have you ever played his game, Frosty? It does a perfect job of making the post I'm quoting look like a kindergarten research paper.
Which would have been fine if they knew they were making a terrible game. Like Sharknado.I have. All I can say is that game was trying too hard to be dark and edgy.
Unintentional Parody. I think it was meant to be taken seriously.Shadow the Hedgehog is supposed to be dark?
I always thought of it as being a parody of "grimdark" media.
The plot and premise is so ******** I would of never guessed it was supposed to be taken seriously.Unintentional Parody. I think it was meant to be taken seriously.
But...but the Felix the Cat-styled characters...the photorealistic humans...the bad graphics and two-dimensional villains...Unintentional Parody. I think it was meant to be taken seriously.
Well obviously it can't be taken seriously, but I honestly think the developers intended for it to be serious. They failed.But...but the Felix the Cat-styled characters...the photorealistic humans...the bad graphics and two-dimensional villains...
I don't quite understand.
Anyway, some stuff darker than Shadow the Hedgehog:
- Any survival horror video game series done right
I'm pretty sure the intention of the pre-4 RE games were to kinda parody the B-list horror movies that were common at the time.
I assume this does not qualify as 'right'.
I assume this does not qualify as 'right'.
Pretty much this, and any well-written book with said elements weaved into the narrative.Even Sonic Adventure 2 can be darker than Shadow the Hedgehog, ironically enough.
Anyway, some stuff darker than Shadow the Hedgehog:
- Any survival horror video game series done right
- Soul Eater (especially the manga, though I'd say it's more on the realm of freaky and surreal than actually dark)
- Fullmetal Alchemist
- Death Note
- Attack on Titan (or really, any minimally well done post-apocalyptic story)
- Fire Emblem series (some parts, mainly those that portray war in a more realistic light. The Future Past DLC of Awakening can qualify too.)
You...just defeated your own defense here. With rhetoric. What is this I can'tWhich would have been fine if they knew they were making a terrible game. Like Sharknado.
But they made the game the way it was unironically, so everyone hates it.
How many death animations are in that game again? You wanna know what's darker than Shadow?
Conker. The gruesome ways to die should be proof enough of that, not to mention that ending that Rareware scrapped where he committed implied suicide.
If you think I defeated my own argument, you clearly misread my post.You...just defeated your own defense here. With rhetoric. What is this I can't
Smooth Criminal
Like I mentioned, I wish it was.Shadow the Hedgehog is supposed to be dark?
I always thought of it as being a parody of "grimdark" media.
It both holds up and is laughable at the same time.Speaking of attempted "grimdark" stuff, d'you think this still holds up, or has it failed spectacularly today?

I did. I bring shame to famiry. My bad. I'm not editing my post to reflect this erroneous thing, though. Damn it.If you think I defeated my own argument, you clearly misread my post.
Holy f***ing s***, it's a dinosaur, Jesus Christ! What the f***!YES I AM STILL MILDY SALTY
This is what happens when the creator of a series leaves the company.
Or they just dieThis is what happens when the creator of a series leaves the company.
Not sure, I just remember that there was one where you literally get cut in half from the underwater rotary blades, which is pretty much darker than Shadow as a whole. How many death animations are in that game again?
Oh, if they keep going this route, Resident Evil will die.Or they just die![]()
