So, who's excited for Sonic Boom? *sarcasm^
....which just so has a release date near Pokemin OR and AS, as well as a rumored Smash Wii U launch?
I'm not interested in Sonic Boom until Knuckles gets some surgery on those swollen muscles.
That **** is not healthy.

Also, I would prefer it if the main characters of that game weren't all mummies.

I do like to read/watch dark manga/anime from time to time. I love psychological thrillers and dark comedies, though the dark manga I've read are usually slice of life stories. So, they're more realistic in that sense. But I don't like reading tragedies because they're just so sad and I might cry. T_T Some tragedies I've read are my fave manga of all time though, so yeah, I survived. =P

I guess I like tragedies that are bittersweet. The ending is somewhat uplifting yet tragic (for whatever reason).

Sharknado is vastly inferior to the masterpiece that is Tommy Wiseau's legendary play The Room.

These kinds of endings are probably my favorite kinds.

Right here. As much of a Sonic fan I am, I was only hyped up at the Max since Thursday when Shadow was confirmed for SB. I've preordered Rise of Lyric, and I'm helping my parents on a project to help pay it off.

We're talking about so-bad-it's-good movies and Troll 2 hasn't been brought up yet? Impossible.

I don't know, I love Sonic himself, but outside of Knuckles, Tails, Amy, Shadow, Metal Sonic, and Egg Man, I really dislike all the other characters. The fact the Sonic Boom is introducing even more characters makes me cringe.

Yeah, I find them kinda more relatable then the idealistic "everyone lives happily ever after no more problems EVERYONE HAPPY WOOO!!" ending because real life isn't 100% perfect and we're bound to go through many tragedies/hardships ourselves.

Let's just face it guys, we all know that Sonic 2006 is the darkest in the series because of satanic references and bestiality alone! Oh, and don't forget about the Uncanny Valley graphics too! :troll:

Your signature is golden.

Better than Habanero's Ike one, perhaps.

Speaking of bad movies, have anyone ever hear of an animated abomination known as "Foodfight!"? It's chock full of PS1 Era graphics, racial and sex related (sexuality and gender) stereotypes, corny food puns that don't make any sense, product placement cameos from Mr. Clean to the California Raisins, and a plot that would make The Room look like a masterpiece.

Why thank you FalKoopa, it's pretty fitting for a forum like this since many debates are bound to be as skull numbing.

Yup, I have. I mean, you know it's good when your main protagonist is Charlie Sheen.

I don't know about the wii u version, but I heard the 3ds was actually pretty good. Saw some footage and it actually looked promising.

Seem like it loves the idea of several paths and also has quite a bit of speed levels for those who want it. Going to keep an eye out on the 3ds version.

I didn't know what the movie was called, but after searching it up, I remember (I think it was brought up here before?). That's the one with the freaky looking baby? Man, the graphics are crap (is it deliberate?)... Do I dare to watch the movie?

I plan on getting it. Closest thing to a HD Melty Blood that we're going to get.

;~; I'm gonna miss my Nero CHAOS.

Smooth Criminal
Who the hell knows, maybe it might be a Guilty Gear situation where Melty Blood will eventually come back despite there being a spiritual successor.

Implying it's not a masterpiece?
Yup, Foodfight's plot is even worse and lacks logic unlike ideas that had similar concepts like Toy Story. Like Nostalgia Critic had said: "Let's just show ugliness in any shape or form, you're good at that! Don't even give us a reason, use it as an example like in this scene where they would now physically exist in the store and getting no continuity in how the **** this world works. And just throw in whatever terrible, ungodly thing comes out of your head and..."

If you guys take a look at this, Foodfight! would have been a much more enjoyable film before the piracy theft occurred. The animation actually looked better, expressions aren't as nonexistent, and it would have been a good holiday movie for 2003. But now we have the festering pile of expired Twinkies that had be released as a direct-to-video film a few years ago.

Somewhere magical
I realized most (if not all) anime/manga series I've watched/read have some dark undertones (some more than others, but still).

Attack on Titan - No ****, Sherlock. It's a post-apocalyptic story in which humanity is nearly extinct. Plus, the Titans can get really freaky at times.
Death Note - Notebook that kills whoever name is written there? That's scary stuff when considering the implications. The entirety of Light's character development is pretty much about those.
Soul Eater - You can easily draw parallels between the madness aspect with psychiatric diseases like schizophrenia. And let's not forget the very disturbing relationship between Medusa and Crona.
Sword Art Online - It's about a video game where people die if they're defeated in-game. Poorly executed the story may have been, the undertones are very much present. This for the first arc. The second arc had attempted ****, of all things.
Fullmetal Alchemist (manga/Brotherhood) - Portrays war very realistically and has many tragic elements taken seriously.
Assassination Classroom - Rather tame and comedic overall, but there's always Koro-sensei destroying the world should the class fail to kill him. The school's principal is also quite the twisted character.
Blue Exorcist - As cliché'd, predictable and very typical shounen manga this series may be at times, there are some subtle hints that the protagonist suffers from PTSD over what happens right at the beginning. Also, the current arc deals with human experimentation and the series overall has some disturbing stuff too.
Magi - This series starts like a very cliché shounen manga (to the point I wanted to drop the series right at the beginning), but develops into a narrative that deals with stuff like human slavery, politics and conspiracy. It also has post-apocalyptic undertones that are being developed in the latest story arc. I must admit this series caught me off-guard.
Something tells me you would like Chrono Crusade.

....

Anyways. I've read 4 books in 4 days.

The Maze Runner Trilogy was simply fantastic. I just can't get over how well those books were written. I don't even know how to explain the books without spoiling them, not that I would be able to explain them all that well in the first place. But if you like to read I definitely suggest reading the trilogy, especially if you like post-apocalyptic science-fiction. They're a great read. I couldn't put the books down for nothing.

The other book I read was the first book of The Five Kingdoms series. It was good, though, I prefer the authors previous works more (Fablehaven and Beyonders) but I still enjoyed it.
