I believe the PS5 Pro costs 700 dollars, right? Imagine the next console, the PS6 being based off it would cost? I bet it can’t be good. I can see consoles costing 700 USD for that matter.

I’ll probably just stick to Switch 2 and PS4 for the foreseeable future. I don’t think I have enough time to play all the games I want to play that are already out. Plus, there’s a ton of fun indie games to discover. I just hope Ultimate or the next Smash is still able to be modded on Switch 2.
I am not sure if I will get the next Sony console myself, especially if it will be that expensive.

To be fair, it makes total sense why Microsoft specifically is raising their prices, and specifically their console prices (which Nintendo doesn't seem to be doing) since tariffs are raising their cost of, and potentially limiting their ability to, manufacture any of their technology because of China's reciprocal tariffs, and limiting of resources required to make anything technological.
IIRC the tariffs on everyone but China were reduced or straight up removed, so Nintendo and Sony potentially aren't going to have to worry about it, but Microsoft is guaranteed to. Yay self destructive business tactics!

Yeah, I have to admit hearing that someone "stole" a slot usually gets to me in a way that... well, I can't even begin to imagine how Sakurai must feel having to repeat himself on the whole 'the roster is determined before development really starts' thing.
Well, barring the obligatory new Pokémon character and/or a REALLY special case like Sonic barely eeking his way into Brawl halfway into development.

Microsoft raising base prices on a console most already considered 2nd rate before the Switch 2 comes out is certainly an idea. They kinda just lost their only card in the market, which was that they had lower pricing standards than the competition. It's not like the Series X is getting anything new in exchange for prices raising, so tbh I'm kinda more mad at them for that than anything.
Nintendo at least gave us a spoon of honey with flashy landmarks like 120fps and 4k on a big three handheld before dumping the hellfire that is 80$ games on us. Microsoft fr just went "you know the drill, economy blah blah fork over 20$ more" and honestly I just can't imagine using my Series X after that happens. I'll probably just give it to a friend or smt since gaming is already expensive enough as is if you aren't buying Indie games or finding a Solid Sale.

Nope. I hear him constantly listening to propaganda videos telling fake stories using an AI voice and still image telling him what a genius a certain person is and how he always humiliates people that try to prove he’s not as smart as he thinks. Then everyone in the story instantly loves him. It’s the most obvious BS ever but he believes every word of it. Even when it’s not political, he watches AI generated videos showing off all kinds of futuristic products that don’t exist. I think AI is fascinating and I use Chat GPT a lot myself just for fun chats, Udio for making music, and Dalle-E for making pictures but I know not to take it seriously. There’s a lot of cool stuff you can do with it but I’m experiencing first hand all the damage it can cause too.Ugh... does it ever get any easier to deal with?
I ended up waiting in line at GameStop for two and a half hours but ended up getting a Mario Kart bundle preorder. I honestly had no intention to buy a Switch 2 at launch but my brother was excited for it and wanted to play Mario Kart. He convinced me that if I didn’t pick it up now, it would only be more expensive later if you can even find it at all.
Back on topic, keeping it within the technology realm, I wonder if Elma actually has a legit shot now that Smash isn’t coming until later. The remake may now be early enough to impact the roster. I think she’d be a cool Smash character.

Would it be wrong to suggest that Funky would be well liked among Mario and Smash fans, if he got in, while DK fans might be a bit more cautious?
But yeah, Funky is a harmless inclusion, if he were to be an echo fighter.

If there's any character that would be a perfect sense Echo Fighter and where the status would be beneficial to getting them in, it'd be Paula from Earthbound/Mother 2. Make her an Echo of Lucas, but she uses Ness' throws and PK-Fire and Magnet. Think about it, all of Ness' and Lucas' Special moves, aside from Flash, can be used by her, she can use a Frying Pan for her Forward Smash and while she can use a Yoyo, it'd make alot of sense for her to use Lucas' Up-Smash and Down-Smash as she is the main "Black Mage" of her game.
And she has a full model in Smash Ultimate, helping with PK Starstorm alongside Poo for Ness' Final Smash, just like Chrom with Robin's Final Smash. She'd also be on the much more unlikelier side of characters that could become playable for Smash.
Besides changing her throw to be like Ness', as she doesn't have a rope snake compared to Lucas, her Up-Smash and Down-Smash' special effects can be changed to a PK-Freeze/Fire effect and you could have her Up-Smash be alot more faster, but weaker in power compared to Lucas. Heck, by making the PK effect a PK-Freeze effect, you could potentially have her Up-Smash freeze foes. And for her specials, she can have PK Fire and PSI Magnet from Ness, while she gets PK Freeze and Thunder from Lucas. Making her a middle ground between Ness and Lucas.
Her Final Smash could've been her Pray command from Earthbound, but unfortunately the topic of Prayer has started becoming a controversial topic, especially in Europe, so most likely, she'll keep PK Starstorm as a Final Smash and have Ness and Poo help her.

Pretty much my thoughts on the matter.
Not saying Funky shouldn't have some notable similarities to DK, but he should still have his own attributes, especially with the surfboard being his bread and butter.
I like Chat GPT, I used it for many things and two of my favorites were the following, one was with the video game characters I want in the Super Smash Bros. series and how they could be implemented there and the other is with new supposed Pokémon of my own imagination about what types they are and where to base them. It's generally a lot of fun to have thoughts and ideas and write them in Chat GPT and have its AI give you answers and suggestions even though they are not completely correct.

Cranky would honestly be a hype staff wielder if they wanted to reach for a more unconvential DKC rep. I would like to see Dixie just so her journey can end, but the disrespectful old man with a cane is one of my favorite archetypes. The 'Git Gud' meme would probably have a full rebirth.

To be completely honest, before the Funky New Mode, I was all aboard the Cranky train, so I'd still be excited to see him even if want to see Funky more. 
I want Cranky in Smash, more than Funky. I always thought Cranky King would be a more fun addition to Smash Bros.
He was the original Donkey Kong after all.

Yeah, of course! If it counts, I have found his fourth wall breaking antics from the early DKC games to be funny.
However, it is possible that there can be no absolute decision on whether Cranky Kong is Donkey Kong's grandfather or father, and whether Donkey Kong is the son of Donkey Kong Jr. or is Donkey Kong Jr. who has become an adult. We all know that Cranky Kong in his youth was the first Donkey Kong. Also, another thing about Cranky Kong is that I doubt he will come as a newcomer to the Super Smash Bros. series, but based on the fact that he came as a playable character in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, that's when I think back and say "why not?".

To be fair, he was basically an Echo when he first debuted. Checking the wiki, he only had two unique normals, the funny damage-dealing taunt, and a couple tweaks to his specials. He was only turned into a proper semiclone in Melee, and SmashWiki only considers him to be distinct enough to be a pseudo-clone as late as Ultimate. Plus, to my knowledge Luigi was seen as being stuck in Mario's shadow for the longest time until relatively recently, so while he's differentiated himself quite well by the Switch era, before then you'd be forgiven for reasoning he could just be a clone with some slight stat tweaks

To be fair, he was added before Nintendo started to give him an identity of his own.
It felt right to just make him Mario's player 2 because it's all he was at the time.

Confirmed, Switch 1 and 2 share the same eShop.
I guess Nintendo might do a Switch 2 edition of Smash Ultimate with new content, if you have the game or not. If you don't have Ultimate, the DLC fighters will not be in the cartridge. You have to buy them in the eShop.
