I unlinked and grayed out the ones I know are in, if I missed any let me know, but yeah let me know if you have any suggestions for those or just any changes for what’s here:

Think about your most wanted character, and think about the character from Smash which is closest to them mechanically. Would you rather...

• Your favorite gets in as Smash Ultimate DLC as an echo. While it may seem contrived, the animations work well enough, but there's so much missed potential (think Dark Samus or Peach). Also, you never know if your character could get Ganondorf'd and never get a proper kit.
• Your character is omitted wholesale from Smash Ultimate, allowing them to get a fully appropriate moveset in a later Smash. Whenever that happens. If they're selected in the first place... So, pretty much there's no guarantee you'll ever get them in Smash.

But what if the character I want is too different from any character in the game?

If Metroid wasn't Nintendo I guarantee it'd be rated M.

I don't really think Metroid needs to be M

The reason is that:
higher adult ratings = less sales

Nintendo's not going to risk a couple hundred thousand sales just so a character can be slightly more true to character.

This is definitely the reason, but I dont think its a good one. People are gonna buy it anyways.

I doubt they want to associate relatively family friendly brands like Mario and Pokemon with a T rating, nowadays...
In fact, the only T rated games that featured Mario and Pokemon characters, were Melee and Brawl

I don't really see the harm in having Mario appear in a slightly more mature game as long as he's not murdering something realistically or swearing IMO.

Black Shadow - F-Zero needed more representation. Plus he's a villain which would had been welcoming.
Elma - We just need another badass female like Samus and Elma definitely fits that role.
Isaac - Just for the Golden Boy fans. They've been waiting for him just as long as the fans and I had for K. Rool. I feel it ain't fair we got him but they didn't get their character. This is the only time I feel Sakurai screwed the pooch and it felt like he trolled them because all those months of thinking he was a lock only to reveal his deconfirmation at the last minute rather then earlier saving them all the pain and salt.
Leon Powalski - I love my reptiles. That and the StarFox reps would be perfectly rounded both Fox and Falco having their rivals.
Medusa - Would had been great getting a female villain into the roster. That and I think it would had rounded out the Kid Icarus reps perfectly.
Nightmare - Not only because more villains would be fun but he'd also be the first third party villain and it'd return the favor of Link guest starring in the GameCube version of Soulcalibur II especially being Namco has been working on the Smash series since the fourth game.

Here's a bigger troll.

It's E3 2019, and during the end of the Nintendo section, Sakurai shows up in person and reveals that there's going to be a new Smash Ballot for Smash Ultimate. He says the most voted character will be added during Christmas of the same year. Everyone get's hyped and starts voting. December 7 (as to celebrate the game's 1st anniversary), the winner is revealed, and it turns out to be Waluigi. Waluigi fans go wild on the internet, poking fun at the other characters that didn't get in. Christmas arrives and Waluigi is finally released, when people finally get to play him...

I still like Camilla's Spirit design even without the cleavage.
I'd be fine with more armor since it's still her and she has plenty of more revealing alts :V

Then a character like NiGHTS, I mean... Who the hell would they clone to make that happen? Anything we could come up with would be incredibly disingenuous to the character. There are some characters who just can't be clones.

Personally, I think NiGHTS would work better as an Assist Trophy, they'd be too overpowered as a Playable Character (free-form flight is a big part of NiGHTS tools).

What were the remarks Ryce made BTW? I remember him saying some stuff on ERA about Ultimate DLC but I forgot the comments he made.

Basically at one point Ryce said he had heard absolutely nothing about Minecraft, but did hear about a character from Square Enix.

Whether or not Steve is in isn’t specified from Ryce, but only two people out of many, many “insiders” have heard it.

If more people had heard about it i’d be trusting it far more. But we’ve only heard Steve from one person who then said he wasn’t sure anymore, and then Hitagi who retracted their stuff on Katalina because they “misunderstood” the information.

Regardless, Steve was never concrete as nearly as concrete as the info on the Square Enix character.

Chorus Kids.

They were scrapped in Smash 4, and even in Ultimate, Sakurai just seemed to forget the franchise existed and left it in the dust with 3 music tracks and a couple of Spirits.

It's extremely disappointing and discouraging because as much as I want it, I don't think a Rhythm Heaven character is going to be DLC.

For a second I thought you were saying you should've been in the game lol.

I say Geno. Sakurai wanted to add him in both Brawl and Sm4sh, but never got the chance to. He even got a splash screen for his Mii costume in 4 (the only Mii costume to get that). When Smash Ultimate was first revealed, Geno had the best chances he ever got to be in the game. Now that we got to the DLC point of the game, his chances decreased greatly. Since the DLC is apparently focusing on big name characters, a side character from a very old RPG doesn't really seem likely. I'd love it if he did make it in though.

A WarioWare original character, if not Ashley then likely either Mona, 9-Volt, or Kat & Ana. With such a colorful cast of characters, there really needs to be at least one more aside from Wario.
