Assuming I've counted correctly, the following characters are 1 or 2 votes away from moving up:

Lots of characters really close to moving right now, lots of characters that have already moved. I take it you'll probably update soon, Bowserboy3 ?

There were plenty of characters that moved up, but only a few went down, so we still have 4 overall tiers, unfortunately.

Nonetheless, there weren't any peculiar movements that time. We start again once more.

I might change some of my votes if I believe it'll speed up the tier list process, but for now, these are my votes:

+1 (Great results, pretty good character overall, high-mid. Donkey Kong)
+1 (People are sleeping on him, high-mid. Olimar)
+1 (High tier, for obvious reasons. Marth)
+1 (Also high tier for obvious reasons. Toon Link)
+1 (See Toon Link and Marth. Mega Man)

Edit: Seems many people agreed with me on Olimar and Toon Link, so I suppose I'll change my vote to make it more meaningful. Let's see...

+1 (Meta Knight is obviously high tier.)

Edit 2: This will probably update soon, and none of my votes aside from the Marth vote seem to matter right now. I'll stay with Meta Knight in case someone else wants to upvote him, but I'll swap the other three to speed up the process of getting some top tiers into top tier.

Just the highest one we've reached so far. There's no official name, but I consider it high tier, so some characters should still move up at least one tier (depends on whether people want top 10 to be 1 or 2 tiers). Don't worry, Villager is not actually considered top tier.

Just a note for anyone voting, but characters can move upwards and downwards freely. If you think a character on the top of the list deserves to be higher, you can still vote them up. In turn, if you think that some characters in the lowest tier should be even lower (which as of this post, some arguably should be), you can vote them down.

Essentially, keep voting characters about based on how you want to see the tier list. There is nothing set in stone as to how many tiers there are yet.

+ Obviously Abadango has been doing quite well, but there are lots of other players getting better and better with him such as Rich Brown and WaDi, proving that he is high tier.
+ His theory suffers from range, but because he has almost single-handedly won several large tournaments including EVO, he deserves at least high tier.
+ Mr. E, MKLeo, Pugwest, and several others have gotten crazy results with him, proving that the tune-ups he's gotten from patches were effective and put him into high tier.
+ Say what you will about Hyuga's retirement hurting Toon Link's results, but when Zan, Sigma, and several others have still been doing well, that would indicate to me a high tier.
+ With SHUTON winning two recent Japanese tournaments, Dabuz using him more often, and other Olimar mains like Angbad and Myran doing quite well, he definitely deserves more than mid tier.

Why do you think that they aren't, again? If you reply with matchups, did you actually bother try learning the matchups to know how it goes?

I haven't really had much of a chance to play at all recently. I will admit some of the matchups that I said are -2 are only -1 though.

It's not even a question of MUs anymore, by this point. I think you just don't really understand how Marcina really works for you to see how they might be high tier. This is why I told you to actually try and see how they play.

So, basically, because almost nobody else agrees with you, they're all wrong? Lol.

It's like me going out on a whim and saying that Falco isn't top tier in Melee. Nothing I could say could accurately back this statement up, because it would be all lies.

I don't understand how in any game, a character that has within the top 15 results out of a huge 58 cst of characters, in the current metagame is still mid tier.

These two posts are still two of the best I have seen so far that explain why Marth is at the very least high tier; this is even before taking his results into account.

At this point, it's like bashing my head onto a brick wall; you clearly aren't open to learn or understand why your own opinion on this matter is out of place.

If you want to go the results route, too: Lucina's even been getting some pretty okay results recently, and I can only hope our buddy Kogarasuma continues to do great with her.
I don't remember if I said this before to anyone from this thread, but good Lucinas practically grow on trees here in Brazil, but the problem is that most of us very rarely travel outside country for tournaments. Maybe the biggest problem with Lucina is more that her players just can't get to tournaments?

Players of niche characters not being able to travel mostly constitutes to their status. Then when they DO travel they do notably well ()

Wanted to ask a ? that's probably been asked before but I could never strictly find it.

For this tier list, are we looking at 1v1s or a combination of 1v1 and 2v2?

I think that's pretty important information for voting. It might also explain why we just sent Ike down only to send him back up immediately after.

Edited my Zelda vote, thought she was placed in a tier she wasn't in.

+ she's a low tier not a bottom tier, very underrated character due to lack of representatives. Great combo game, hard to ledge guard with her up B going far, spectacular kill power. (Up B can punish unsafe moves on shield and kill really early, lightning kicks are lethal just really hard to hit, she has a DI chase killing Hoo-Hah, Ftilt and dash attack are strong sweet spotted and kill) I doubt it's true but I've managed to land D-tilt to Fair sweetspot on tall characters and kill around 90.

I don't think you quite understand how this is working. Technically she is in the lowest tier right now, but that's only one tier below the "middle ground" where every character started and some haven't moved from. Right now what you're voting for is that Zelda is better than about low-mid tier, which is a huge statement.

Will there not be more definition in the tiers such a low mid and high mid or is it still too early for that? Apologies if I mis-read anything.

I'd still put her in mid tier for the time being even so. I really think she's heavily slept on

Until Zelda can force approaches whatsoever and not have two Knees as her spacing aerials, she'll always be bottom 5.
