Ezio (Assassin's Creed)
Pretty iconic series with many games and spin offs. Would have a moveset that uses the stealth based gameplay of the series. Ezio seems like the most popular and most often used character.

Pinball Table

PlayStation
Table takes on the colours of the PlayStation. The bumpers are based on the dullsense controller. Various platforms from PS history appear, as do their sound effects. Has mini segments based on Horizon, God of War, Rachet and Clank, PaRappa, Uncharted and Helldivers 2.

And now that everything's finished with the set of weird fighters, it's time for...

==NEW JOBS==
Job #155: Submit a 2000s Fighter!

Ahh the 2000s, a great time for gaming. It saw the births of a ton of franchises and brought a lot of new consoles into the fold. Ps2, Ps3, Psp, Xbox, Xbox 360, plus all the Nintendo stuff that's slightly less important for this thread.

The series doesn't have to be a 2000s creation, but the fighter does! Excited to see what you come up with!

Job #156: Submit a Token Pinball Table!

So here's a throwback, a long long time ago we did a mode job, and Token Pinball got added to the game. But you can't have Pinball without tables to play them on!

For this job, I'm gonna be accepting 3 Token Pinball Tables into the game, only holding a vote if more than three are submitted.

To make things different than a typical stage vote, Token Pinball Tables cannot be based on specific games/game series. You should focus on other aspects of thr gaming world, or just be more broad with your theme, like instead of a specific game, make the table about the company behind that game! Just an example.
  1. Ellie (TLOU's an obvious pick for something like this, and being an assist rather than a playable fighter feels a little more tasteful.)
  2. Ulala (Who doesn't love Space Channel 5? That aside, I think the series' general vibe perfectly encapsulates an era of video games.)
  3. Princess Kurumi (A really neat historical artifact. She might not be SEGA's earliest heroine, but she's early enough to be notable in her own right.)
Job #155
Fighter Name: Shinra
Fighter Origin: Ikaruga (2001)

This might seem like an odd submission, but I think it makes a certain degree of sense for a handful of reasons. The fact that Ikaruga is often cited as one of the best video games of all time is only one of these.

Firstly; Shinra brings an interesting degree of potential in terms of moveset, should we pull mechanics from both Ikaruga and its spiritual predecessor, Radiant Silvergun. While we do have the Space Invaders as a somewhat effective zoner-type already, Shinra's use of both the polarity mechanic (perhaps being able to switch between more outright powerful attacks with black, or less powerful attacks that drain opponent health with white?) coupled with Radiant Silvergun's weapon trifecta would lend pretty well to him being fresh; plus, while he wouldn't be piloting the Ikaruga itself, I'm sure we could find a justification for Shinra to be able to run around on the battlefield and be an aerially-mobile character with those kinds of abilities.

Secondly; I think Ikaruga is a unique game to represent a ton of different elements. I mentioned the Space Invaders a moment ago, and while they're effectively the genesis of the "shoot-em-up" as we know it today, Shinra would act as a great point of contrast against them - showing just how far the genre's developed, and really helping to cement the evolution of games as a whole. That aside, he's also a great representative for the end of the "arcade era" - as arcade games were becoming less popular in Japan and being superceded by consoles, games like Ikaruga were seeing releases on both NAOMI and Dreamcast. Oh, and need I mention that he's also an opportunity to represent both Treasure's body of work, responsible for a ton of iconic releases over the years, but technically also represents alumni from many of Taito's most prominent shoot-em-ups (given the game's co-development by G.rev?)

I'm aware Shinra's very much a dark horse pick compared to a lot of candidates; there's plenty of deserving ones from the decade, after all. I just think he's uniquely placed to not only represent a particular time and place in gaming history, but also lends really well to potentially being mechanically and visually unique.

Job #156
For my Token Pinball submission, I might as well get a little weird with it, and go with Atari 2600. The table as a whole would have the wood-grain and plastic look of the original hardware, with a handful of minor elements like switches and bumpers based on elements like the console's switches, gamepad, and additional controllers. Fairly typical fare!

However, the main "gimmick" is a trio of empty cartridge slots on the board, that can be made accessible through different means; though one is toward the top of the board, but is pretty much always accessible. When passed over by the ball, a random cartridge will be selected from the list and inserted into the slot, turning the slot into a wall for 15 seconds before being removed. During this time, a modifier will be applied to the board, inspired by the games inserted.
  • Adventure - The ball is replaced with the yellow square from Adventure, becoming significantly less heavy than normal. Various items from Adventure are strewn across the board, providing score multipliers for collecting a greater number of them.
  • Asteroids - Asteroids (based on the arcade game) appear throughout the table, which break apart and act as score-providing bumpers when the ball hits them.
  • Berzerk - A collection of up to five Humanoids appear on the board, which are destroyed if hit, giving you score. Clearing them all manifests Evil Otto, but unlike the original game, you can gain a pretty hefty chunk of score by hitting him with the ball too.
  • Breakout - A Breakout-styled wall appears over the gutter, which is broken away if the ball hits it. It vanishes when the timer expires.
  • Centipede - The ball is trailed by four additional "spectral" balls, resembling a centipede, and gaining a 5x score multiplier. If the balls behind the front one are hit by a board obstacle like a bumper, they'll split into additional balls.
  • Yars' Revenge - A Swirl will slowly start to move around the board, which eats your ball if it falls into it. However, a Neutral Zone will appear from top-to-bottom on the board, slowly moving from side-to-side, inside of which you gain a score multiplier (on top of invulnerability to the Swirl).
