Zelda: Smells like dust that comes out of an old chest
Mario: Smells like an old man with an old cologne on.
Pit: Smells like a bird. I mean, **** that ****....he practically IS a bird.

BEST. THREAD. EVAR.

Mario: Why does everyone think he would like smell like toilet water/oil/**** lol? He's supposed to be a plumber, but he is rarely ever seen doing his job. And for a short, stocky man he seems to be in great shape with all his jumping/running/swimming so he wouldn't break into a sweat that easily. He would most likely smell like 'shrooms since they can be found everywhere around the Mushroom Kingdom (no laws against drugs) or he would smell like lasagna/speghetti/ravioli since he's a stereotypical Italian who really digs pasta.

Pit: He would probably smell like bird feathers or something since he's supposed to be an angel. Yet for some reason, I don't think he would shower often up in Skyworld.

Zelda: Well, since she's royalty, she would probably have some perfume on her that has a scent of fresh flowers along with clean linen. But on the other hand Zelda's feet might be a bit smelly with the long boots/stockings on all day lol.

(SG)-Zelda: She is believed to smell like lavender and other fresh and pleasant scents. But a some people argue that when her foot wear comes off, her feet reveal a not-so-pleasant smell.
I didn't say her feet would smell unpleasant. ;)

This isn't locked? The MODs have grown a sense of humor? Awesome, anyways...

Mario-Like a mix between a construction worker, gardener, and athlete. Really, Mario does so much and travels all over the place so it's kind of hard to coin what he'd smell like. Probably sweat but not in a grotesque way like a fat guy that loafs on the couch, watches infomercials, and farts all day; like the way you smell after being in a sauna for a few minutes. He probably lsmells ike dirt and grass like an old pair of work gloves too. Wow... this topic is weird.

Pit- You know what the air smells like during a lightening storm? Probably that since he's in the clouds all the time and probably like a bird house because of all the feathers. It's weird, you can't really wash feathers throughly so it kind of sticks with you in the same way that chopped onion or a wet dog does on your hands.

Zelda-I imagine that she'd smell sort of like the section of an antique store that has old dresses and what not. Despite her looks, she seems to be very reserved and modest so I seriously doubt that she would smell like perfume/flowers/victoria secret. In all the games she's in, she seems to be very down to Earth and be able to communicate and understand "the common man". Seriously, if she wasn't, do you honestly think she'd talk to Link? He looks like a mix between Peter Pan and Robin Hood, it's no wonder he never talks and usually lives away from most people.

I hope this topic stays alive because there is something indescribably awesome about it.

It‘s time to jump into Day 2 (4-26-08). So, let’s take a smell at the following characters :

-Ike
-Pokemon Trainer (The trainer ONLY)
-Yoshi

Discuss!

____
Here is the popular belief of the given characters from Day 1 (04-25-08)
(S) Stinks
(N) Neutral
(SG) Smells Good

(S)-Mario: Popular belief is that Mario has a strong scent of sweat, plumbing tools and oil, and sewage. Others believe that his scent is associated with Italian food and spices along with the unpleasant scents described above.

(N)-Pit: Thought to smell like Humidity/Ancient/Bird. A subtle scent, basically. A few have it that he has a hint of perspiration.

(SG)-Zelda: She is believed to smell like lavender and other fresh and pleasant scents. But a some people argue that when her foot wear comes off, her feet reveal a not-so-pleasant smell.

My two cents on Day 2:

Ike: He wears heavy, thick clothes. He carries a friggin' heavy sword and surely sweats tons because of running and carrying the sword. Probably hardly showers. So, he is likely to smell like sweat and metal/steel/sword.
Would suck for a character that smells good to fight against/along him.

Pokemon Trainer: Like person lives with pets (Not necessarily a bad scent). The thought of him wearing a full can of AXE or some cheap ghetto fragrance is tempting, though (No offense to anyone that sprays AXE).

Yoshi: I always thought of them as smelling like a certain fruit depending on color. Green = Watermelon scent. Red = Apple. In general, I'd say Yoshi has a fresh scent of fruit.
I'm not sure about his breath...

Ike_ He is a soldier who wears heavy metal armor, I think. He must have a metall like smell (like coins) Additionally if you sniff near him, you will also find the scent of lube oil (I'm not sure, if this is the correct word, of what I meant, cause the dictionary gave me plenty words. ) Without this his metal armor would break easily. And when he doesn't wear armor, the sword itself smells exactly the same. And it's big too.
Now comes the layer of clothes... (wow tier means also layer, now I get it) He is no lord but a travelling soldier , so only washing the cape and the shirt and the pants, when he is near a river. I think, those smell like a bunch of old clothes, like when you take out a shirt from your wardrobe, that you haven't even touched for 3 months but not that stinky. But only if you smell directly on them.
The cape especially must have cought a great amount of other stenches, like smoke of camp fires and maybe blood.
Now he is travelling. Dirt on shoes and cape. Earthy scent, but again, only when you sniff directly on the shoes.
Last part.... Sweat.... he must be sweaty... Armor and clothes are heavy. I wore those too. Especially the gambeson. And I bet he wears one, if not.... he is stupid and would get hurt easily. And carrying a two-hander in one hand? Must be pretty exhausting too...
So in short: Sweat, metallic, a bit like oil, old clothes and dirt.

Pokemon Trainer - He is a travelling boy, but I think he washes himself regularly at the PokéCenters, so I think, he doesn't smell sweaty. But there is one big thing, he is all day long with animal/plant hybrids. He must smell like zoo. Like Animals themself, like their food, even like their excrements. He smells like zoo.

Yoshi - He pretty much smells like dinosaur. You know? The freshly sweet smell with a light scent of bitterness. You should all smell dinosaurs when you have the chance. I's really a great experience.
But I bet he has really, really, REALLY bad breath. He not only eats like everything, he even licks everything that he cannot eat.

Ike- I imagine that , besides Wario, Ike would be the worst smelling character. As people have said, he wears armor and his clothes seem kind of thick. He also weilds a huge sword and, as a person who used to practice swordplay, it is very rigorous excerise swinging something like that around especially the way Ike does. Earlier this year, I went to the William Wallace Monument near Edinburgh Scotland and got to swing around an exact model of his sword which is about the same size and weight as Ike's. It weighed probably 20 pounds and it took a lot of strength to weild with one hand. With that said, Ike has to sweat up a storm using that thing especially for long periods of time. Ike is also, more or less, a traveling mercenary so I can't imagine him bathing all that often especially with the group he's with. In the end, to imagine Ike's smell, you'd basically have to think of a body builder after a long workout, dirt, and leather.

Pokemon Trainer- He probably smells like Mario to a lesser degree (slightly sweaty mixed with grass, dirt, and whatever terrain he's been in). Also, he would smell like his pokemon. The one in Brawl would reek of reptiles (especially since he hugs them so often). Reptiles smell like a mix of stale woodchips and new shoes... Did I mention that I love this topic?

Yoshi- As I said above, reptiles are freakin' smelly and I've had friends that have owned all kinds of reptiles. (Turtles are definately the worse followed by lizards.) If you ask me, Yoshi would smell like a mix between a gerbil and lizard. Animals without teeth have really smelly breath and considering the stuff that Yohshi eats... There's also Yoshi's shoes to think about... Is he even capable of taking off his shoes? Enough said...

This is such an enjoyable topic.

Ike - I have to agree with consensus and say Ike would smell quite strongly of sweat. Heavy clothes combined with lack of bathing equals mediaevel BO.

PT - again, the teenage boy smell Pit has but there would be, to me, the smell of pet food. He seems quite affectionate with his Pokemon so I would imagine he wouldn't really feel the need to keep his distance when he feeds them.

Yoshi - oh good lord, what a stench. Seriously. He'd mostly smell like the reptile house at any zoo - hideous. He also reeks of failure but I'm not sure that's an actual olfactory sensation, to be honest.

Ike probably tries to smell good for Soren.. then again maybe Soren prefers the er.. sweat.

Pokemon Trainer probably smells like grass and Pokemon food and whatever else he carries on him, travelling long distances from town to town.. yeah I doubt he showers much.

Yoshi smells like poop no doubt. Reptile poop.

Ike: He has been out in the wilderness a lot. He might smell like the wilderness.

PKMN Trainer: Traveling a lot can make a guy smell dirty. He'd smell like the forest.

Yoshi: He'd smell like a bunch of fruits. Eating a lot of fruits sure can make your breath smell fruity.

...perhaps if we speak RD Ike's Ragnell, we'd reach 20 pounds.

But that blade is like, two feet or something longer than SSBB Ike's Ragnell, and has a broader blade. I'd hazard a guess that it would weigh about 10 pounds in reality. I think the sword you swung around to have about the same weight, but felt heavier because of the fact that it was long.

...Also, it's generally agreed that replicas made nowadays are made alot worse and are heavier.

Ike: I would have to say Ike smells like a soldier. That would be a strong stench of metal, oil, dirt, and sweat. Oh the sweat. We're talking full grown man SWEAT. This has to be the nastiest smell in America. (Europe, there might be worse, I don't know).

Pokemon Trainer: Well, like Ash he must be a little sweaty from throwing them pokeballs:laugh:. Aswell as pokemon food, and probably the smell OF the pokemon...which would consist of MORE sweat, because of all the battling they do.

Yoshi (oh geez):Well, he's eaten EVERYONE on the brawl roster, aswell as many other thing *shivers*, so I would say his breath is STANKY. But his body....a general lizard. Not too bad, but nothing you really want to come into contact with...

Ike: Running around and swinging his sword while wearing heavy armor, he must smell pretty bad.

PT: Being around Pokemon, probably makes him smell like animals.

Yoshi: He's a dinosaur that can eat anyone and everything [with an exception], he breath just has to stink like crap.

Yoshi: He smells like dirt and scales.
Pkmn Trainer: He smells kinda like a kid with 500 pet hamsters.

Ike: I have to agree about him smelling bad. Sweaty

PT: I believe he smells fresh. He's got sneakers, so lets assume he has cologne. Also, hanging with his Pokemon is no problem. Ivysaur smells good, Squirtle is neutral, and Charizard is all soot and cinders. It balances itself out. Rugged, eh?

Yoshi: I'm for him neutral. I don't see him as being that bad smelling (Aside from his breath!), and whenever I think of the cute dinogon, I see flowers.

I can imagine Ike smelling a little musky, but in a not entirely unpleasant way.

Pokemon Trainer probably smells like he's been outside a lot, but not really sweaty.

And I'll agree with everyone on Yoshi's breath. Yuck.

You are right-- he is with those pokemon all day so he has got to smell like animal food and everything associated with animal/pokemon. I doubt he smells too bad though. *edits last post*

IKE: Yeah, like others have said. The outfit and the sword has gotta be hot and heavy, so he's probably pretty sweaty. Not horribly though.

POKEMON TRAINER: Well, he doesn't do any fighting himself, and he is pretty stylish, so he probably has some Axe deoderant in that backpack of his. So he's probably smelling good.

YOSHI: Yeah, I think you guys are right. His breath would be questionable at least.

Ike: I can see him smelling pretty sweaty and bad. Not as bad as some, though.

PT: More a kind of natural/outdoorsy smell than a pet stink.

Yoshi: Like someone has already said, Yoshi has a thing for flowers, so I can't see him smelling too bad. Anyway, it's not like he chews anything that he eats; he pretty much just slurps in right in. Might also have a bit of eggy smell.

I like this thread :)

Ike would probably smell pretty average. He's wearing heavy armor, so he probably sweats profusely. But...I don't know, he just doesn't seem to smell too horribly. He's probably neutral.

PKMN Trainer would probably smell a bit funky. Sure, he doesn't fight for himself, but he is running around and waving his arms everywhere. A guy can get stinky if he moves around too much without some backup (like Axe :p). Here's what gets me though; would that even be effective if he's hugging his tired, sweaty pokemon after every win? I vote for stinky.

Yoshi seems to smell like candy to me. That is, until he opens his mouth, at which point he smells like a sick elephant. A rancid odor for sure.

Ike: agree with most people, blood and sweat, not exactly a pleasant smell.

Poke Trainer: Slightly sweaty, but mostly smelling of the ground he sleeps on.

Yoshi: He does mostly eat fruit, so I'm going to say he doesn't smell too bad. Granted, at the end of a battle, he might not be so pleasant.
