Well you can tell the difference in insight comparing that GFAQs thread to a smashboards one. >.>

Also this is quite cool.

I think he's using mines.. not C4 (C4 won't blow up unless there's a long duration from when you planted it or you detonate it yourself). Though extremely useful.

I think that the mortar tube hits the mine and blows it up before it would hit Snake. Now if he could take a Samus charge blast, then we are talking.

Well the mine does have a large blast radius so if the mortar hit it, the blast range should have still been close enough to blow Snake up.

However, I totally agree  We need to see snake sliding full force into a charge blast/ganon punch/falcon punch. :p

I'm 99% sure this is total bs. I've done enough mortar slides with and without contact into projectiles and never noticed super armor frames, let alone all out 'invincibility frames' which don't exist as parts of moves. The first hit of the mortar, the one where snake slams it onto the ground, hits the proximity mine, therefore negating it. Snake's not the only one that can do this either. Just about anyone who has some sort of sliding/moving disjointed hitbox attack where there hitbox makes contact with the mine before their body does can pull off this same 'trick'.

Seriously, gamefaqs?
