I am such a pushover at this game. I cannot, CANNOT react quickly at all. My technical skill, in general, is fine, but I can't react at all. I hate how I can predict my opponents... but I can't seem to move in time.

I bet I'm slower than all of you.

No, I'm slower. My reaction time is way off. I end up moving too fast or too slow and get messed up by it. However, it's probably because I don't play Brawl enough.

Only when I'm super tired, but that makes sense considering...you would be tired. >.>

I play this game, on average, two hours a day.

Am I supposed to be playing more?

This is going to sound wierd, but I actually have to have a warmup. My first matches of the day are always sluggish, but once I play a little it all comes back to me......it's amazing:). I do play better late at night as well......adrenaline is all up and I concentrate better.

I play about 4 hours a day.....if you want to get really good at anything you need to practice it a lot. Sometimes it's hard because I actually have a life, but try to play every day.

>.> It may be just me, but most of the time my fingers react before my mind even conjures up an idea.
Yeah, I'm like that too. I'll do some random moves without thinking, and then realize how cool it was. Really, the only things I ever premeditate are DK stagespikes and Falcon spikes. And Ike anything. Cuz with Ike, you kinda have to.

I don't have that problem. My reaction time is great, my tech skill is great, my prediciton is also pretty **** good if I do say so myself. I know my characters and their match ups well.

But then again, I used to play 5-7 hours of Brawl a day over the summer. And when I played Melee competitively, I would get 10-15 hours a day in the summers.

Long story short, you probably just need to play more Brawl. Simple as that. Everything can be improved with practice.

You're too slow.

:093:
Aww, you beat me to it XD.
Anyway, Marth's a good choice to use, because his attacks are quick and have good power, and if you're feeling tired and are playing against more than one person you can just jump around a lot and counter like mad lol, and hopefully steal a kill.

Not like I would use so cheap methods ;)

If you're slouching back and playing half asleep, you're probably not going to do very well. Inversely, if you play frustrated and enraged, punching the couch when you get gimped, you're not going to do very well either. Sit up, pay attention, and feel like you wanna win, and I'm sure you'll do better.

If you say you're predicting your opponent and you're not reacting fast enough, I'd say it's either a) the speed of your character does not coincide with your game plan, or b) you're not actually thinking fast enough.

Bleh, practice is nigh impossible for me in general.

I guess I do play better at night, though.
