Homura: "I am worthless, I am... E-Eh?" -then she realized that somehow it felt like all she just did made Byleth... Somehow relate, upon taking a glance at her-
Homulilly: "...Well then, it appears this woman has a darkness that, was she a magical girl, would be shaped like myself"
Devil Homura: "I gave her the chance to tail out before. And she wasted it..."

-Byleth was screaming, the pain in her head too much to bear, but those screams eventually turned into crying...-
Sothis: "She is far too kind to give up on a chance to leave her behind. A kindness that is both one of her greatest strength and her most destructive flaw."
-Sothis then sighed, ready to explain everything about her host-
Sothis: "On her first timeline, she was a stillborn. She should not have lived. But her mother, who was on the verge of dying due to childbirth tearing her body apart, chose to sacrifice her heart... which was in fact
my heart, so that her daughter may live on. This act of sacrificial kindness is one that my host over there has clearly inherited, and to explain it is a bit of a long story...
She grew up isolated from Fodlan's culture, her father having grown wary of its religion, or more specifically the Archbishop ruling it, ever since Byleth's birth. Her wife's sacrifice was never explained to him and his daughter inexplicably had no heartbeat. I would be cautious as well if I were him, given the circumstances. Still, she grew to be quite the feared mercenary under his care, killing with so little contempt she was branded as a demon by the people.
However, everything would change on the day we met, 20 years after she was saved, I had give her part of my dominion over time so she could survive an encounter where she threw herself between a trio of young students and an axe-wielding bandit. But turning back the hand of time and instead attacking the bandit, she earned the admiration of these students and would eventually become a combat instructor on the very school the attended, and even taught in one of the three students' classes, bonding with the house she had chosen.”
-it's then that, as if understanding how this mindscape works, Sothis showed all events that she would describe as cutscenes, as if they were taken from a movie, starting from the bandit attack she just mentionned (in other words, I’m too lazy to take pauses to describe every single event in every route lmao)-
Sothis: “During her teaching career, her father was killed in a dishonorable fashion. She had never been very emotive in her life due to her unusual birth, but seeing the man who raised and loved her unconditionally for two decades fall to his death... broke the dam, making her cry for the very first time, but also making her furious for the very first time. She took a bait set by her father's killer to try and track her down, try and kill her. It was a trap that sent her into a completely different dimension, one she could not leave without more of my powers. So... I granted such power, not wanting to be in an eternal void.
As the months went on, emotions started to show a little more, and taught her that everyone has experiences and loved ones, which made her start to regret each of her kills in the battlefield, both past and future...
But her emotions were not the only change; her mastery of my gifted powers grew during that time as well. She could turn back the hands of time more frequently during a battle, allowing her to easily get an upper hand. This became particularly useful when Fodlan became the heart of a war that lasted six years... a war that she mostly spent in a coma since she was caught off-guard and was dealt a critical blow that sent her into a deep canyon and an even deeper coma so that all the injuries her body received could properly recover, something that would not have been possible without my heart.
In the war, she stood out as a military commander who struck victory after victory, ultimately ending the war alongside those who were once her students. All have overcome great hardships in that time, both in terms of the war itself and their own personal lives.
Overall, she seemed satisfied until she realized how much my powers had grown inside her. She realized she could turn back the hands of time as far back as the original day we had first met. It's then that some rather simple, innocent and rather idealistic thoughts entered her mind and never left it.
'Can I save everyone?' 'Can I bring peace without bloodshed?'
Intrigued to see if her picking different choices would lead to different outcomes, I... allowed it. If I had known how far this would go, how much this would end up breaking her, I would have refused. I... could not have known how badly things would turn out.
Every timeline she did brought about some changes, some small and others far more drastic..."
-many events would be shown; Edelgard turning into her Hegemon form, Dedue willingly turning into a Demonic Beast to protect his king, Rhea willingly setting a town on fire to slow down Byleth which would kill innocent lives, Aelfric using Sitri's body in a ritual that fused them and turned them into an unholy monster, Dimitri's sheer insanity, each student all falling in battle in different ways including some instances of being done by a Byleth who is in tears, Edelgard setting Gronder Field and thus Bernadetta's body on fire, Rhea turning insane and rampaging all around her forcing Byleth to regretfully put her down and so many more...-
Sothis: "War is terrible. Imagine constantly turning back time to be back to a point where it drew near, constantly, over and over, to see more of its horrors.
That is what Byleth went through, repeating the same six years to chase an idealistic hope that she was too stubborn to drop. When I realized how much it was destroying her on the inside, it was already too late to change her mind, so I watched with constant worry, keeping notes of everything she did.
After several dozen attempts, a dark force from a void outside of time actually wised up to what Byleth was doing and ensured that someone would survive an encouter with her months before the point she would start at. A purple-haired mercenary who now possessed the powers of the most powerful human mage in existence, one who once devoted his life towards killing me. As you can guess, this led to an intense rivalry, and that changed the turn of events so drastically that my host was no longer a teacher nor the one who saved those students on the day we met. I would awaken two years later than usual, leaving her alone in this altered timeline against my will."
-it's then that Byleth's first initial fight with Shez was shown, with the latter awakening to her dark powers to survive the clash-
Sothis: "On the first of these altered timelines, Byleth had well and truly died. Both metaphorically after seeing that mercenary slay her father, leaving her so broken after he managed to last two years longer that I was forced to take command, and literally after she slayed her body. In a fit of rage, during the time I had control, I... made things far worse for Fodlan, causing one of its leaders to break an alliance which led a lot of bloodshed. Given the turn of events, I was the one to turn back time on that timeline but it would seem the dark force and the mercenary adapted, taking on a more subtle scheme of trying to befriend Byleth which eventually became more genuine as the dark force would decide to not take over the mercenary's body until much later.
Once this sneakier plan started to be used, things seemed to have returned back to how they were, with my awakening happening at the day it used to be and Byleth becoming a teacher, allowing her to return to how she used to do things... to chase that perfect ending. But it would turn out that this mercenary, named Shez, still remembered the previous timelines and joined in that chase, always trying to drive off the dark mage’s influence on her... and always failing to do so...
However, despite it all, Byleth... had done it. She had achieved her ideal and brought an era of peace, solved any conflicts peacefully and even ensuring Shez would be saved from her own powers, all with... as few lives lost as she could as sadly, even with her control over time, some forces from the void beyond constantly prevented her from saving her father, and on the few timelines she did, Fodlan turned far worse. She... had to accept he could not live.
Do you want to know how many times she started over before finally reaching this happy ending? ...Well, regardless of whether you care or not, I shall tell you. One hundred and forty times. She has lived through these six terrible years 141 times before
finally succeeding. But she had done it. She had made a world where everyone could live happy. Everyone... except for her.
Turns out all the things she had experienced, all the nightmare scenarios she had to see dozens of times, took an
incredible toll on her mind. It was so bad that any face she saw or any landmark she visited was enough to bring some of the traumatic memories in the forefront of her mind. She was turning insane and tried to avoid constantly experiencing such pains by isolating herself... but even then she could not sleep because those memories would surface any time she slept. It was horrible to see... She brought peace to the continent, but at the cost of sacrificing everything she had... including her sanity.
She was done with life, and pleaded me to delete her memories so she could live peacefully... I did not want to sacrifice her entire individuality but also I could not deny all the memories she carried were incredibly harmful to her. So I told her I would do as she said but in actuality, I kept around eight timelines in her mind so she would never forget where she came from and at least had a faint idea of what she did to achieve what she did, and put mental blocks on every other timeline. To be even safer, I also suggested her the idea of going to another world entirely under the pretense that she could use some fresh air but in truth, was to ensure none of her trauma would resurface.”
-the final cutscene shown was that moment where Byleth begged to forget… and then Sothis would put her to sleep before putting those mental blocks, ensuring Byleth would not get any panic attacks as she did her work-
Sothis: “However, never would I have considered the idea of someone carrying a similar burden as she did, so I never did any protective measures against that. As a result, seeing Homura's backstory shattered those mental blocks all at once and that was far too much for her mind to handle at once, leading to the broken, unintelligible mess you see before you."
-Sothis then turned away from Devil Homura, her fists clenched, before taking another glance at her by turning her head towards her and said one final sentence with as much venom and sarcamsm as she could muster-
Sothis: "I'm certain Madoka would be proud of what you've done here."
