Most call me Ren, Raven, or just RR
Real name is Osei though
Call me that if you want lol

I'm seriously passionate about maining Sonic
Still can't seem to beat Wolf and Olimar
-_-

I only really play against one person the majority of the time
And he doesn't really care about mains, he just looks for a counter pick

I've been to no real tournaments they're always FFA(AZ sucks)
My scope of the game doesn't branch much farther than just that guy
Don't even have the game.
Sooo, basically. I'd say I suck.

I've just started to try Sonic, and I'm working on some techs that I think might work with him, since his Bair kinda acts like D3's Bair. Do you guys have it listed that Sonic's Bair goes through the Nado? Same for the DAir if your above MK. Uair, if done correctly, can also go through MK's tornado. I'm also sure that a falling Nair can, but I'll have to test this.

Any other characters you guys want me to break for you? I'm good with them all, kinda like Reflex XD.

All of them work if placed right. Spring is notorious for doing it, and we even have some evil tricks that have to do with grounded spring cancelling tornados and turning them into side-Bs (which of course == easy punishment).

But Sonic is one of the few characters that can both outrun (lol Puffball/Espy has videos of running away from tornados and nailing them with B-air as they chase him) or shield a tornado, release as soon as he starts to retreat, and grab him in his ending lag.

dNES - I'm crazy about wifi cause my college has NO brawl tournaments. As in, the melee players gave it a chance and then they just decided they'd make fun of Brawl and now they're simply cool with Brawl players but they still want us playing melee too. I'm sure there's plenty of people out there who wish they had as strong of a melee scene as we do here at Purdue University.

So basically, if you want to play a decent Sonic on wifi I'm up for it. I also know a couple Sonics who are not regulars on the boards here, but will gladly play online if people are interested. I record many of my matches for self improvement reasons since there's really nothing else to gain from wifi matches.

I'm currently working on gathering frame data and I've decided to pick up Mario in melee. I'm going to a melee tournament tomorrow evening and I'm hosting a Brawl Wifi event on my website (check out my sig). Our site is actually being upgraded right now so there might be some bugs.

I also can hold my own with Bowser, Falco, ROB and PK trainer. Good Night.

Lurker here. >.>

I recently picked up Sonic again as a full on main in place of my previous main, Dedede. I still sub him for bad matchups and the like though.

Anyway, I've been a Sonic fan pretty much all my life. I got into competitive Melee pretty late, and figured I'd try my chances at Brawl as well. Being a Sonic fanboy, I mained Sonic for 2-3 months when the game was first released but ultimately dropped him because I just couldn't fight well with him.

Now I can, so here I am.

DJBrowny / DJB / Daniel - Never played melee competitively, although i do have about 550 hours clocked on it so im by no way new to smash. Used to be a very dedicated competitive PC gamer in Bf2/2142/DotA but thats getting kind of old. I figured ive got the dexterity for tech skill (I play keyboard), competitive mindset and a ton of spare time, i might as well go all-out for brawl.

Aiming to be the best Sonic in Australia, which isnt too difficult considering the amount of people who actually use him in tournaments :p So far ive been to 4 offline tournaments in my state and have won all of them (and doubles) With mostly sonic for 1vs1, id say about 60% of matches i use him. Sure the competition here might not be all that great and only a few even visit SWF, but I do the best i can and after all, you're only as good as the people you can play against :)

I dont have too many difficulties using sonic other than cases of being equally matched versus my opponents where they win some, they lose some etc but im still not confident enough to use sonic vs an MK mainer here, i always go lucario/snake for that matchup. Its not really a case of me avoiding the matchup, but i do go to these tourneys to win, not to get angry lol.

Used to use ASC a lot before it was famous lol but against my brother who is my main competition, he knows about it and it loses its effectiveness. Still use spinshot very often, one of the best character specific AT's in brawl imo, but still trying to find ways to implement side b cancelling often without having to plan it beforehand

yeah...

so hes basically the best player in aussieland right now...

p.s. i trying to make up some money, and if my business pops off the way i want it to, ill be taking a rather large road trip over the summer. which will include,
going to a huge boston tourney in which i will get to meet my idol MemphisChains (hes trash @ smash btw.)
going to NYC for a tourney or two, showing inui whose boss, and getting to play some of the best, non MK players out there.
traveling to Texas, to show 3000 and puffy how real men play sonic.
possibly utah, to see if X really actually plays against good ppl.
and a bunch of other places for a ton of stuff that isnt brawl related

Hi.

Definitely not active on smashboards as of late, because I'm not into competitive gaming right now. Why? Because of Mugen (lol), two Yoshi Island hacks, Sonic 3 & Knuckles "Steak Runs" (nonTAS), part time journalism, story writing, and I'm trying to get back into school.

But I just came in to say hi.

I main sonic and have hosted 3 tournaments (hosting a crew battle soon) and have taken him to about 10 tournaments. I still have yet to get a first place victory with sonic but i've taken quite a few seconds and thirds... He's kinda tough and I'm almost to my "plateu" where I stop trying new things. I know there are still things out there that I should be working on, but most of them seem like they aren't worth it.

The only main thing I regret is that I've removed some of his moves from my moveset entirely. I don't use usmash or neutral b anymore and mostly only use u-tilt by accident. I'm just hoping no one finds something extremely useful with these moves because it would take a lot of time for me to incorporate them into my playing style.

The only concern I have on the sonic boards is that people try "rating" other sonic players. He can obviously be played several different ways and certain ways are better in certain situations than others.

They're rating themselves, not others. Nor are they define the way Sonic should be played.

Read my Moveset Analysis thread for more details, but I'll basically outline the main points.

Homing Attack is useless really.

Usmash is decent. Has a few uses.

Utilt for opponents aggressive aerial approaching.

Boxob, I'm getting sick of inviting all of your alternate accounts into the SBR...

I'm removing B%B.

This is the last one, I just wanted to make it so people who knew me on my old account would recognize me, some people don't know the whole B%B thing unless they played me in Melee.

Besides, having all that Boxob in there makes the group look good, you should be greatful I let you invite me into your group.

I will when I get on an actual computer, I'm on a laptop, and I hate it too much to be opening multiple tabs, on Internet Explorer no less, this is disgusting.

Removing B%B justs removes the Melee side of Boxob, which essentially means that you took all the non-scrub out of the SBR. You fool.

Why didn't you get internet?
You should get internet.
And steak. Lots and lots of steak.

:093:
I have it back now.

Let's just say there was some unpleasantness that stopped me from getting internet.

And I always have a stockpile of steak in case of emergencies.

I have been reading these boards for a few weeks, and just recently started posting. I now consider myself pretty accomplished, since my Sonic seems to match up fine with the videos I've seen.

Um.. yeah. I main Sonic.

I mostly play (and mostly win) on free for all 4-player matches in my school's Game Club, with people that aren't too good. However, I get teamed up on half the time and I still win most of them.

I am a long time fan of Sonic, though I'm also a fan on believing in / using stuff that's underused or considered inferior. Although I've been on this site for a little while, I'd say my Sonic needs some improvement in the mindgame area still, and I still haven't implemented ASC grabs, spotdodges, and Spinshots into my game.

I've never tried 1v1 wifi matches, so I'd like to try that when I have time against someone that doesn't think Sonic is cheap, Metaknight is 'just' good, and thinks he should counter my Sonic with a Thunder-spammy Pikachu (coughmostofthepeopleatGameClubcough).

What's the deal with Boxob and all the new usernames?

I main Lucario, unfortunately.
I'm not good at Sonic's style, nor am I all that good at playing against Sonic (especiallyif I try Snake).

I am a fan of Sonic games, especially the Shadow character (because although his game was par (I liked it) he has a less happy-go-lucky personality), and I started frequenting the Sonic Boards after Gimpytrout Fsmashed the lucario boards because Sonic mainers are the most fun. And Tenki and Da KID are awesome.

I realized I could use a period after the name Boxob to make it as close to Boxob as possible.

****ing gay.

I guess emo Sonic's cool if you're 13, and the only one who understands you is your box of tissues.

And Tenki and Da KID are awesome.
That's pretty much the two most contrasting members on these boards. I lol'd a bit, out of confusion.

You pretty much just got scrub'd.

Aran here in NYC. I've been around the boards for a while, and was maining Samus and using Sonic as a second. I recently found out that my Sonic is actually better than my Samus, so I may switch over soon, as soon as finals are over. I haven't really used Sonic in a tournament setting, except for one match against D1's falco, where I got thrashed, but that was over a month ago, and it's improved considerably since then.

i lol'd for like a full minute, just because i agree so much.

And boxob is a very close second to the awesome/steak contained in me and tenki.

@aran, have you ever played malcom?
