When I get the Smashball I wait til everyone's on the ground (or about to touch it, so that they fall asleep and can't jump) and I try to be as close as possible to deal the max 40% damage it has.

Jigglypuff is the best character to avoid Peach's FS

I thought it would be Pit or Peach... or all 3 of them. @.@;

I wouldn't say it's one of the BEST, it's good, but not that awesome. I wish they would have given Jigglypuff some sleeping FS thing and gave Peach like...crazy attacking hearts all over the stage. That would be awesome.

I remember in the earlier days when Peach's FS was still a mystery and somebody said her FS could be her 4 emotions from SPP. When activated a rotating arrow would appear and whichever of the emotions it landed on would activate a FS. So she would have 4 possible FS outcomes.

I always liked that idea. Oh well, whats done is done.
Her FS is still awesome anyways.

I personally think her FS isn't good... I find myself having to use it TWICE just to kill somebody when they can use their ONE final smash to kill me TWICE if it lasts long enough. -_-; Also the peaches don't heal enough, on big stages they're impossible to get, anybody can wake up and eat them, enemies wake up too quickly, stage hazards wake them up, characters with good recovery can easily dodge the final smash, heck even if the character doesn't have good recovery all you have to do is stage on a ledge to avoid it... I seriously don't see why you guys think it's GOOD other than the fact that Peach uses it and how pretty it is... IMO it's mediocre at best... final smashes are WAAAAAAAAY too unbalanced in this game, which is why I always have the smash ball turned off. =/

I'm not a big fan of it either, but it's pretty useful in 1v1.

When I play a FFA...well, it's just a mess, and unless I have below 90-100% I attack the people and leave the peaches behind (or attack while eating some). I won't waste time eating peaches if my damage is over 120% because I know that a simple smash attack will kill me sooner or later after the FS.

Great guide! I'm just at the beginning of learning Peach, and I think she's awesome! This really will help me out.

I just noticed that you have written of the d-tilt in the guide... But can't it spike opponents who try to get back onto the stage? That seems like some fair use, to me. I love the d-tilt, e/w.

Hate to say this since I've only been hanging out at the Peach forums for a couple of hours...

I love Peach's FS, but it's one of those things that's VERY useful if you use it right, but nearly useless if you don't, whereas Sonic and Olimar can just press B and unleash Hell.

On a separate note, I've noticed that Peach's Usmash seems to have 2 sweetspots. The Usmash is very powerful on the "normal" sweetspot (above her, right on the palm), but I've also found it to be quite powerful when I use it while my opponent is in a certain position directly behind me. Anyone else know anything about this?

I only like to use Peach's FS on small stages in 1 on 1 matches or on moving stages like Mushroomy Kingdom or Rumble Falls... still on 1 on 1 unless they're all to the left of Mushroomy Kingdom or on the bottom of Rumble Falls, then I can get 3 KOs with it. =P It would have at least been better if Peach healed herself automatically and the range of effects was more like Luigi's Negative Zone rather than the player having to guess how far it affects opponents at... if it could affect those in the air then that'd be awesome... I don't see why the designers didn't balance final smashes out more, prettiness doesn't make up for effectiveness. =/ And as cute as it is, peaches falling all over the place is a pain because as soon as you're done eating them the opponents are awake unless you hit them with the FS at 100% while you have like... 30% or less...

Peach's Final Smash is too circumstancial for me to label it as the best FS in the game, it has it's good moments and it's bad moments depending on how you use it, but half if not MOST of it has to do with which stage you're on and which opponents you're facing... if you're facing Jigglypuff, Pit, Peach, R.O.B., Kirby, or any other character that can stay airborne for a while then you're pretty much gonna have to try hard to hit them with it if they don't manage to hit it out of you first... which is another thing... with Peach I find myself losing the smash ball after just ONE or TWO hits while it takes 5 or more to hit it out of somebody else! >.<

All in all... they really should have just either made all final smashes transformations or big beams or they shouldn't have included them... or at least make it ONE hit to get the smash ball... but I'm thinking from the POV of a Peach mainer because it'd be harder if I was a Gannondorf main since he can't jump... there has to be a way of balancing how to get the smash ball... and if the final smashes all vary the way they do then they shouldn't be afraid to overpower some of the ones that DON'T KILL... like Peach's... and... well I've used Pit, Ness, Dedede, and Lucas' final smashes and have barely did any damage to my opponents... those characters can't even control where to aim... it's all just really unfair really... if Marth is right in front of you then you're dead... if Sonic gets the smash ball then you're dead... if Fox gets the smash ball then you're dead unless you go into a level of the stage they can't reach...

It's a shame but being A LOT LESS worried about your opponent getting the smash ball if they're Peach is sad... if I play a Peach player who got the smash ball all I think is "Meh... I can just float and edge grab and then eat the peaches when it's done." as opposed to other characters where I start to think "Okay so I can't get in front of this person" or "I've got to dodge and jump and try to avoid this and that" or "I'm dead..."... and that's seriously the case with final smashes...

It's not the worst thing in the world... but Peach's final smash could use some work... she had PLENTY of stuff to work from, I don't see why Sakurai or the designers figured they should make up something new... she has psyche bomb, her emotions from SPP, a Toad army, and a bunch of other stuff... and THIS is what they gave us... no nostalgia... not as much effectiveness as other final smashes... sure it's super pretty and cute, but in a timed match you better think fast. @_@;

EDIT: Well the music is familiar and the effects resemble Sleepy Time... but still! >.< It's not VISUALLY nostalgic... if that makes sense... which it probably doesn't... blame my... uhhh... sleepiness? Or uhhhh... my disappointment?... or... meh who cares. ._. I'm too tired to post anymore in this post... so this is the last sentence... right here. ^^;

The way I use it, my opponents ARE worried when I get the Smash Ball.

Either way, it's definitely the most beautiful Final Smash in the game.

when i play with my friends with fs on and i get it they feak out and are like "run!" and when they have alot of damage on them i just walk slowly to them side taunt the wack them with a fsmash

Not worth it's own thread, but might be worth posting here:

I saw the fair from the edge videos. I don't much care to do it however due to the ability to gimp her recovery afterwards. So ... instead of fair-ing then up-b, Peach can just fair and land on the stage, canceling the lag (auto cancel?). Just tap back, up, then fair with the c-stick. Or Peach can airdodge instead of fair (what I did in melee).

Probably old news, but if not, t'is worth putting up in the first post of this thread for others.

Edit: if too slow on the fair you do have the landing cooldown to deal with.

Yup that is how I use it a lot! It is a great way to get back on the stage...also you can use uair at the edge of the stage....but space yourself so your under the sweetspot. Your legs will still go to the top and hit them.

That reminds me, the bair is bad for this. It has a really long cooldown (when in the air the whole time) and pushes you backwards. End result = falling to doom (for me at least).

Gotta try to sweetspot the uair off the edge (I didn't give it much thought before).

Sweet spotting with uair is nice. Also messed around more. You can tap away, then Toad someone to gimp their recovery. Since Toad moves you up some, if you were fast enough you grab/sweatspot the edge right after and still have your airjump if someone gets past and grabs the edge).

I would like to say in Dark.Pch's defense, he is a very good Peach player. I just caught up with all this stuff and his vids. And I think he is one of the finest Peach players out there along with Niko and Peachkid. Love your Peaches :D But to make that official, he has to go and place well in tournaments and show it. But his Peach is top notch, no doubt.

And I dont think he would have any reason to lie or make things like this up. And VEC. I looked at your sig. It says you main both Pikachu and Luigi. And Dark.Pch has said that he beat both of them with makes it 3 wins to your 2. Thus if you wanna base it on that, Dark.Pch is better.

He has played many great people and won, and if not, gone even with them. He wins fights as well as loses them. But when he loses them, he does not act like you do, or give up as you say and walk off the stage admitting defeat. when he lost to your Pikachu I dont think he gave up right? He fought to the end. Thats what a REAL player does. They man up and take thier loses. And if they are loseing, they try and do a comeback to win. And it happens. So a fight is never over till you see game on the screen. And Dark.Pch has made comebacks. (nice comback on that Pit in one of the videos Dark.Pch, that was sick ;D )

And from what I read, you are trully a sad player, that is even racist to nice people.
