Zoze's in Indianapolis, he's been at a tourney all weekend, and he's visiting his cousin up there. I think he said he'd be back Wednesday or something. If you guys are all willing to go, I'm 70% sure zoze would love to carpool and drive you guys there. Only issue I've had with his car at a tourney was his heater not working very well and making noises at Smashing Thru the Snow. I'm sure the heater won't be necessary this trip.
LOL guys. The AC went out on my car, so I usually roll the windows down. I might be able to get it fixed before then. But other than that my car is awesome.
The only issue I have is trying to convince my parents that I should drive to New Jersey to play video games. If we can get 5 people in my car (myself included) to split gas, then I could probably go. We would need free housing too.
Also, I don't have a job right now, so I can leave and come home whenever.

hey. do you guys want to stay at someone's house that's an hour away or in a hotel? the house = $5 per night. the hotel = $20 per night. the hotel would be for fri, sat, and sun. if we leave on thursday, i'm sure we can stay at the guy (doom's) house for thursday night.
i believe tko is offering us a free hotel, but we will be sharing that with 6 other people, whereas doom's hotel is just us and him, so it will be a little less crowded but will cost more. with tko, we can stay at the hotel with on thursday. tko also requests that it is absolutely no more than 4 people, because anymore than 10 people in one hotel room is pretty ridiculous. which should be fine, because if fino is coming than he has housing with vVv. but if it changes and is more than 4 people, then we can't house with him.
so what do we want to do, in regards to those two options?

Followup to the above post.
I'm not sure if you guys will be able to house with me on Thursday night. I'm one of the airport -> hotel/venue drivers for Apex, and I'll have lots of flights to deal with on Thursday night, meaning I won't be at my house. If you guys are cool with waiting at the hotel or the venue for me to come by and get you (it'll be pretty late), then I can take you back to my house or you can follow me home. I live slightly over an hour away from the venue. If I'm going to drive you guys, I'm only asking $5 each per trip. So, if I brought you to my house Thursday night, back to the venue Friday morning, to my house Friday night, to the venue Saturday morning, to my house Saturday night, and to the venue Sunday morning, that'd total to $30 per person. I may also be able to house you guys Sunday night as well, upping it to $35 each if you leave your car at the venue, or remaining at $30 each and costing you whatever the gas money would be to get to my place. This includes a guaranteed couch spot for everybody minus one (might just bring a mattress downstairs), and possibly breakfast in the morning. You also get all kinds of personal time to play me! :D
If you opt out of staying at my house and we get the hotel together, it'll be $20 per night per person with five of us. If you guys plan to arrive Thursday night, I really don't have a reason to join you in the hotel room, nor do I have any reason to stay Sunday night, as I live (kind of) close by. So, if you're planning to spend four nights at the hotel, it'd run you $90 each. If we do stay at the hotel, we'll be able to intermingle with a bunch of Smashers, and for those of you who drink/smoke, etc., you can do whatever you want there. That's not going down at my house, sorry.
The final option would be to stay at my house, but drive yourselves there each night and back to the venue in the morning. In that case, you're going to be paying your own gas (it's 60 miles each way, no tolls, run your gas mileage calculations), plus $5 each per night that you stay. If you stayed Thursday night-Monday morning, that'd run you $20 each plus whatever your gas costs.
Financially, it's obviously your best option to stay at my place and have me drive you each way. I already explained to Nicole, my house is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The only problem might be pet allergies--if anyone's allergic to cats or dogs, either bring some medication or stay at the hotel. I have three cats and two dogs. One of those dogs happens to be an enormous Rottweiler, but he's very friendly and will stay quarantined in the dining room for the guests' peace of mind.
Hopefully you guys don't have a car of 5, because that'd force you into the hotel room at $17/night/person with me, $20/night/person without me.

i really want to be able to hang out with people after the tournament is done and have fun and get drunk, which would mean that we should absolutely stay with tko. but if that's not going to happen, i'd much prefer to stay with doom, where there's plenty of room, plenty of bathrooms, breakfast!, etc.

an hour's worth of gas each way is WAY cheaper than any hotel you're going to get. I'm also confused as to how car pooling 4-5 people for 60 miles is more expensive than Doom charging everyone $5 each trip. The total cost of each trip would be like $6-$8.

Because I'm still going to charge you $5 per night you stay over.
Gas in NJ is about $2.50 a gallon (assuming regular) right now, if you're lucky and find a cheap place. Assuming your car gets 20 miles per gallon (wouldn't be shocked if it's more, but for the sake of argument), you've gotta spend $7.50 each way in total. Thursday, Friday x2, Saturday x2, Sunday x2 = $52.50 in gas, plus $20 each for four nights of housing.

If they carpooled with you, $30 for rides plus $20 housing = $50 each person.
If we split the gas using your math of total trip being $52.50/4 (people carpooling).
We'd get $13.13 for rides plus $20 housing = $33.13 each person.
We're extremely grateful for the housing offer, and if I had the time to go to Apex I would be all in. This sounds like a blast. I'm sure they'd also love to carpool with you/you riding with them/ whatever to and from the tournament, but they'd be better off splitting gas without you than spending $5 each per trip.
I hope things work out, this sounds like it will be so much fun.
to TMAC: I need your number again. Summer school, work, my son, and court are all kicking my butt timewise right now. If I'm able to do a crap load of school work by Thursday afternoon, I'll be able to play Thursday evening/Friday morning.
