Stage Builders

I have an idea.

A cube, with only one hole in the middle of the top, one in the middle of the bottom, and one in the middle of either side. KOs will be extremely hard to get(obviously).

Hopefully the stage builder is like extremely in depth, and you will be able to make almost any kind of stage you want.

Idea #2: A really tiny platform. That is all. Imagine Final Destination, but like 1/4 of the size.

Idea #3: Two vertical walls running close next to each other, with just onetiny platform on top. Staying on top ensures your death from any landed smash attack, so battles will have to be fought almost entirely in the air using wall jumps and hit and run techniques.

I am just kind of BSing these ideas. Honestly I think stage builder is going to make Brawl a million times better than we all already know it's going to be.

Ohh thats an interesting question. All we'd see of course, are one platform stages :ohwell:

My Idea

I call it spike tunnel, because you would try to know people in it to cause a bunch of damge because they would be bounced off the spikes hit the wall, then hit the spikes again, repetivly untill there through the whole tunnel and they'll probly be KO'd at that point.
It would be fun to see other people missery

PS- The Top platform wouln't be passable as it looks in the picture

Create a box just like the box in Luigi's target test. There is only one opening at the top this time and the walls, floor, and ceiling are lined with spikes. Assuming the game knocks you back each time you touch a spike, this will force the combatants to fight in the air THE ENTIRE TIME. This will make for some combolicious and off-the-wall fights.

Remember Battlefield from Melee?

Well flip it upside down.

Where the bottom platforms (the 3 that used to be on top) are not passable, and the top one (the long one that used to be the bottom) is passable.

You could build an almost cage-match style level, U shaped with a plain solid surface on each side. Then the only way to KO someone would be for them to fly off into the top of the stage. Just a random idea.

Yeah, you can. Here's quoting from the Dojo:

Also, if you’ve registered someone as both a Wii Friend and a Smash friend, you’ll be able to send custom stages to each other.

You can use your Wi-Fi connection to send stages you’ve made to Nintendo! (However, you can’t submit repeatedly. Maybe just once per day?)

Every day, a stage selected from the entire daily collection will be sent from Nintendo to your Wii. A stage made by someone else will come to you over the Internet once per day!

DUN DUN DUNNNNNN! That’s the shocking truth. This means you’ll be able to experience a new stage every day – the flavour of the day, if you will. However, the plan is for that stage to vanish once one day has passed. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.

You can submit in both the Snapshots mode and the Stage Builder mode, allowing everyone to enjoy the creations of others. The fun of sharing is one of the ways that I wanted to take advantage of Wi-Fi for something other than pure battling.
He also said at the end of that post that this is the "current ideal plan" and that "future fine-tuning may result in changes to this feature."

I love this idea. Some friends and I were theorizing this. We used to have great times with the Gamecube Action Replay and that was one of the most fun stages to play on (until the game ended when you broke every target). Would make a cool custom stage, imo, and wouldn't be too hard to make.

Goomba trophy

IDK why, but that event was fun. Too bad there's most likely not going to be a "giant Goomba" tool. Man, now that I think about it, a "giant Goomba" tool would be awesome.

That it would be.

Hey, how about you make the Luigi's Break the targets stage?
See my above post, unless you mean something different.

Edit: OK guys I got really bored and fanatical.
Here you go...

Pretty simple, gray being the huge blocks shown in the preview, the thin platform is a drop-through platform. The black dot represents a character the size of Mario, or so I tried to judge with the pictures on Dojo.
Thoughts?

i want to battle on a ipod
yea stupid idea but original?
Though an iPod itself is an unorthodox idea, and can't exactly be done to detail, I very much like your idea. Essentially, a thinner Final D (maybe half the width?) with a ton of vert recovery room, opportunities to wall jump, etc. I'll have to metally note this idea to make it when I get Brawl.

but whats the point of having it there
cause suicide?
mabe spikes on top of it?(thin platform)
There would be plenty of time to directionally influence to the ledge on either side.
Also, it is twice the width of the whole so it's not always a straight fall. I just figure any platform but a drop-through would be impeding. Spikes would stick with the original flavor of the Luigi target test, though, and give incentive to do things aside from spike your foe down the center hole.

seems reasonable
but it will be hard to KO someone....

what about this i was thinking of a moving stage leval it would have a larg platform on the bottom of the stage and it would have a lot of miny stages in the air that go back, forth,up,down, and off the screen so that if the person stays to long on a platform they will go off the screen. that way it would have the players concentrait not only on the other fighters but on the environment as well

It would be really Cool if you could make some sort of Super Mario Galaxy type of stage and it would send you to another planet by star and if you don't go the planet your on would crumble and you'll lose a stock.
Pretty cool huh?

I would also like a Wii menu or DS menu stage kinda like picto chat type of thing and you would be in the DS and the screen on the top would be passable so you would be able to drop down to the touch screen.

I'm not sure how entirely feasible this will be, but I have plan to design a replica 8-bit Mario stage using the stage builders grid layout. I've not solidified any real plans yet, because I need to know what all is available to work with, but I'm thinking that I'll add something else. Perhaps a few other 8-bit sprites to add extra platforms, or make the stage larger. Maybe like 1 pixel = 4 squares on the grid. Perhaps just make it his head if I go that route?

What I'm saying here is that I will construct an 8-bit Mario stage. The question is only how, at this point.

I was also planning to design a stage to look like a pokeball, but the only playable surface would be the black colored region on a ball, if you're staring at it from the front. The opening button would be a little platform/obstruction in the middle. This would allow you to beat on opponents into the high percentiles before knocking them out. Perhaps, to make things a bit a: easier, b: interesting I'll actually just use this theme to start with, and hollow out the top red segment of the ball into a few platforms and an opening form the big round center area.
Comments? Suggestions?

I agree on the pokeball, I might have to go for the largest size stage for that one, but for the Mario one, at least, I plotted it out. Based on the grid shown, if that's all I get for the medium sized stage, I can at least do his upper torso.

I want some stage to test Sonic's and Falcon's speed.

How about making stages where the goal is not fighting but something else? Tag, Hide 'n Seek etcetera.

Make your own Race to the Finish?
Or just straight mazes. Anyone here play the flash game called "N"?

I want to make the ultimate gliding stage.

Basically the map is maximum size, two tall towers are at the very edge on each side. on the innner side of these towers are ladders leading to the top. The entire middle of the stage is empty (maybe a platform or two in the air) and the ground is covered in spikes. The distance across is wide enough so that non gliding characters cant possibly jump the gap, without landing on spikes. the only way to fight is by gliding, attacking, and gliding to the opposite tower

I also like the idea of an all wall-jumping stage. Most of the towers are two tall for the character to triple jump up onto, so wall jumping id the only way out after youve been shot down into a pit. Variations include spikes at the bottom, or a tunnel leading to a ladder that goes back to the surface

Cool idea, too bad even the biggest stage isn't very big. A race would be cool though, a long stretch with jumping obstacles and those conveyors to slow or quicken you.
It's too bad Brawl is meant for fighting, not things like this. Tag might work with sticky bombs, though....

Alright I give you the box! The only way to get KO'ed is to get sent flying so fast you glitch through the walls!

This is the Spiked Box, you can fall through, or be spiked through the platform, but other then that its pretty much the same as the Box only with spikes!
