Stop worrying about AR crapping up Wi-Fi

In a lot of threads about Wi-Fi, I've seen people complain about Action Replay ruining it because noobs will cheat a lot.
Action Replay is not a problem.

Anyone else remember the freeloader? A quick software update rendered it unusable. The same can be done for Action Replay.

Major first-party Wii games such as Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy come with the latest software updates for the Wii and even require you to install them to be able to play the game. Datel should know that putting out a product for the Wii that would immedietaly and automatically be disabled every time a major game came out is a horrible business decision, as no one would want to buy it each time the new one came out, and reworking it to bypass the Wii's security would be too much work.

As such, I can easily assume that Action Replay Wii will not exist.

Thus, it will not ruin Wi-Fi.

Yep, it could be that in order to play online, you need the latest Wii software at the time (which it would obviously check when you tried to connect). Even if something new comes out in the way of AR, a Wii software update could be released as a normal system update, and again, Brawl will not let you play online until your version matches the latest.

So it's definitely not impossible to prevent, but it's all up to how they want to handle such a thing, whether they want to go to all the trouble to prevent it, or whether they even see it as a majour problem.

It might screw wi-fi its a possibility, be real!

Thats why when you want to battle someone, contact him in the forums, get their FC, and battle.

If you think were "safe" because Nintendo can update the software, NEWSFLASH: So can AR (Datel?).

In conclusion: Random Battles are not a great idea anyways, Set up matches are a good idea.

Actually they already did this a while back. Action replay doesn't work anymore, I think if you try to use it it disables your Wii or something like that.

Good Point. I didn't think of that when I had to update my system via Super Mario Galaxy a couple of days ago.

That sounds kinda dumb considering how some people have trouble connecting to the internet, which would make certain games inaccessible to those people.

Not worth the trouble imo.

....most people won't hack, If most people regularly hacked (hacked not glitched) then Xbox live wouldn't be awesome, I play live a lot and very very rarely have problems with hackers, in fact I can't say I've seen any.

And if you get a Hacker, just DC :b I mean really, there is no ranks, people can't see your name and while I hate both those facts it does make it if you do have to DC for a legit reason (emergency, power outage, hackers, LAG) then no one will know or care

The GCN ARs I can confirm do not work unless you get the one made specifically for Wii usage for the GCN games (however, you cannot enter in new codes for it). Meaning, Nintendo can and will make sure that ARs cannot run on Wii.

Only way to use GCN AR is on your GCN unless you want the aforementioned product, which sucks ***.

No...

On the Datel website, it said they were making an AR for Wii due before Christmas. Nintendo said the update was only meant to stop console modding. If Nintendo actually makes an update just to stop AR, Datel can sue for some reason I don't remember. However, Action Replay won't crap up Wi-fi, because Datel said that they would never make any online codes.

I wish they didn't close the whole thing tho. Just for online with anyone. My friends would just luagh it off and tell me to disable, and I want to play as Master Hand. ;_;

if anyone has a history of video games it was ruled in a famous court case awhile ago(like 80s) in Lewis Galoob Toys(Game Genie), Inc. vs. Nintendo in which it stated that is it not illegal for one to use cheating devices to modify a game made by someone else because once someone has purchased it is now their game code thus AR, Gameshark can never be illegal. That does not mean however Nintendo could make coding or patches to stop the cheating devices from working as they have done it before(although im not sue if its illegal now).

Unrelated kind of but...

I was playing Halo 3 on live today at a friends house, and there was ZERO lag.

How can this be possible for Brawl?

Stop worrying about worrying about AR crapping up Wi-Fi.

If you don't like it, go just off a freakin' cliff. Or stop playing online.

But if you choose the first one, which I recommend, get photo's of you falling ; maybe a movie. Okay?

Yeah, not only that, but play with friends that you trust if you're so worried about it. Since there most likely won't be a ranking system, not as much importance has been placed on the "With Anyone" mode, anyway.

In fact, nothing gets recorded at all. If you lose, nothing happens, if you win, nothing happens. If you disconnect, nothing happens. The whole match is unrecorded.

So what use is it using AR online?
