Ok so I haven't played melee in ages but I thought of something cool just now.

On a level like say FoD with 3 platforms.

Is it possible to backwards wavedash off the top platform>reverse needle cancel bair>platform cancel bair?

I've seen some funky stuff with those platform edges and thought this might be possible.

Sentinel i say you go practice and see if its possible. I used to practice really weird things like that too. I say this because i can tell you'd have fun trying and figuring it out yourself, and its a very rewarding experience in terms of game knowledge

Me and all the guys who used to play smash all the time got together for the 1st time in ages today and played.

My Sheik got warmed up and I started kicking a bunch of ***.

Got some filthy mindgames going with needle grabs/cancels. :3

Awesome, thats my favorite part of melee. Getting with cool people who know how to have fun. Then just have fun, I play melee for that reason =3.

Also, I got my recording setup fixed thanks to Bio of all people!

Next smashfest, I'm definitely recording vids hope people look forward to it =3

Hi Sheiks. I'm Vocal I'm a Brawl player at my roots, but I've always liked Melee's style; I've played a couple times before but never gave much time to it. I've got plenty of free time during the summer so I've started learning the game a bit more. When I played a couple months ago, a friend who plays Melee gave me some tips on Sheik that have served me alright, but I still want to get better. Not looking to break into the competitive scene, but purely just pick it up for recreation.

So what do you think I should work on? I know I need to work on wavedashing and become better at L-cancelling, but tips on combo strings and other techniques to learn would be helpful, and just gameplay/mindset tips in general would be nice

If the opponent knows how to DI you might want to shorten it down a bit

Yea, I've gotten that much. Though, I still don't know when to use U-tilt properly. Every time I try to it's either out of range or doesn't leave enough hitstun on my opponent

edit: Also, which characters does Sheik have a chain throw on? And does she have throw tech chase on any of them?

She can tech chase the spacies and falcon consistently, as well as any others which decide to tech her Dthrow. She chain grabs a load of the mid/low tiers, but I don't know specifics.

Sometimes I question whether or not I should really main Sheik.

Then I get three consecutive tech-chase dairs into a reverse fair.
