My friend, Adam. He's had the game longer than me. He still beats me regularly. But I'm closing the gap. The thing is to not let it get to you, improve as much as you can, and know that even if you're still losing as bad as you always were, that doesn't mean you haven't improved.

I can't really tell beacuse I don't play Ness, but my Ness-main friend has no problem against my Wario-main friend. Both are pretty good, but Ness wins almost every time. That being said, I think you need to practice a lot. My Peach (who got nerfed big time) got consistently owned by Pit and Wolf, but I didn't quit Peach, and now I can defeat both ^^ Keep working!

I mainly play CPUs for the lulz and to work on my spiking and risky attacks. Lemme tell you, I used to absolutely fail at spiking but I have knocked a stock off of LV9 Snake without taking any damage. I can now 3 stock things with ROB, and now I can do more then approach with my spike, which was stupid anyway.

Wait, OP, I suggest you quit smash if you think practice is invalidated. As stated unnumerable times above, you DO get better. Subsonsciously you'll start recognizing things your friend does and imminent danger. It's weird, but it's awesome when it come along. The loser grows faster than the winner does in terms of skill.

I'm not saying you can't practice against computers. That was never what I was saying. Originally, someone, I forget who, said that in order to improve the best, you should fight computers and emulate what they do. That is not the best way to improve. The best way to improve is to fight the most skilled people you can, as much as you can.

My personal training regiment is as thus.

Watch videos of other players/learn something new from the boards/get an idea for a new technique
Try to implement what I found in practice
Try to implement what I found against Level 9 CPUs
Try to implement what I found against humans
Master what I found against humans/CPUs/in Training by doing it over and over and over and over.

Playing Brawl has taught me something. Balance is in Brawl, but some characters are just better than others. STILL! I had thread on trouble beating Wario right... Thing is, my bro mastered that fat *******. AND I CANNOT BEAT HIM! Every strategy every technique. I GOT JACK! I look at Aevins guide everyday in hopping he will update it. Yes it helped me immensely,but I will never beat: Olimar,Wario, Rob, Dedede, Wolf, Metaknight and any other character my stupid brother likes. He's so **** lucky! Every game we get his fave character>Mine. Im pissed of, mad, and I can't think straight. Please I need something to keep me going...

PS: Has this happened to you, probably not. Your all super good with Ness and you probably pwn your enemies.

Not true man, just practice, practice, pracitce! Play against some friends or something, and get better and you'll win, you just need practice!

Either your brother is bad, or your Ness isn't very good. Either way, like everyone else has said, you need to practice. I'd suggest practicing against lvl 9 computers to learn spacing and Wario's moves, then find a friend or just practice against your brother more.

Lawlz i beat a wario online with ness the last night,lol He dropped out after the first match.Um spacing and pk fire is very important,and beware of his shoulder,that thing kills.But yeah,just space and keep doing sh Nairs and Fairs and once he gets to about 50 or so start throwing in RAR bairs to get him in the air.Then pk thunder (the bolt not tackle) to an aerial to finish him.When he on the bike, pk fire or if you feel that your skilled enough ,pk thunder him(the bolt.)while he's in the seat.
