Had absolutely no clue you were a member here.
At first I read that as there lol. Yeah Melee was my introduction to competitive gaming (though I had an unsuccessful attempt at Marvel 5 or so years before that...I was young and didn't know how to do things).

I randomly saw this thread while scrolling down, it moves pretty fast. But eh, my heart is not really in BB.

Mike Z has an account too. And DC, I think.
I'm not sure if it's same Mike Z, there was a "Mike Z" on the Lucas boards when Brawl came out that was a different Mike Z from Colorado...

Well, he posted in the Skullgirls thread when it still existed, so I thought it must be the same guy. :I

Werekill, I don't know if you still check this thread anymore, but I learned how to do this today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iZrTfE8h6w

It's pretty dumb.
There was a skullgirls thread here? Wow, I'm surprised.

lol not really. It's cute, but Noel needs all the help she can get. Still a gimmick in the end, but it'll probably catch anyone who hasn't seen it at least once.

That's the plan! And I like dumb stuff.

I tested it, and it only works on Ragna, Tao, Litchi, Hakumen, Bang, and Makoto.

I managed to pull it off on someone at biweeklies tonight.

He was displeased.

I swear I saw that video before. Oh well.

Edit: Maybe a friend sent it to me. But yeah, the drive cross up is pretty nice. Too bad it's not an overhead like in CT.

And I should've played Skull Girls when I had the chance today.
It looked pretty cool.

With Hakumen against Tager, it's more about one or two hits, then footsies (no air footsies if magnetised) all day. Just gotta hope they stay afraid of how much damage you do in one combo, while you're afraid of their command throws. However, that matchup is so gay that, even though I normally beat Tager with Hakumen, I picked up Tager for dittos because they are so much fun.

SCIENCE!

I really wish you would play Skeletal Minion more, Derp. He taught me a lot more interesting (gay/********) stuff for Haku.

Like doing a Tiger Knee Hotaru on wake up to destroy just about all of Tager's oki options.
Or doing 6C all day on anyone because Hakumen is ********.

You know, I'd forgive all of his bullcrap, even his braindead stupid Captain Commando AA attack, if his counters didn't come out on frame 1/combo into 7k for only 4 magatama/destroy all oki options/.... you know what, just remove j.D.

Hm... I feel like playing BB again. I'll be online today if anyone wants to play.
Hopefully lag won't be that bad today.

Yeah Hakumen Tager pretty bad. If the location tests are anything to go by, j.D is getting a nerf in the balance patch.

Zero, you need to play ME more, because I do TK Hotaru almost all the time on wake-up and as a random poke if I have spare magatama.

So far, j.d. won't combo afterwards no matter what. I think it should if it's an air-to-air, but you can't do 5C to Emma~Hades. Instead, it should be 5C to Lotus to BnB.

This weekend I was finally able to do Lambda's up-forward TK Crescent Saber (2149D).

I was really happy.

Bah, I keep on forgetting how much you improve. I was actually really surprised at how much better you've gotten when I played you in NC.

I think I'm going to pick up Lambda because I'm sick and tired of Hakumen ruining my meaties. btw, Kola's trying to learn Lambda too so I can learn her while I teach her.

GGs, Minato.

I was doing well for a bit, but then I started to get tired, so I got predictable.
GGs, Werekill. Our matches are smoother than they were before.
You seem to be getting better. Your Noel's taking advantage of 5D. Just make sure to 4D after if I block it since I won't be able to punish it.

And your Lambda was good. I had issues getting in if you couldn't tell.

I've also been doing Ranked matches today but filtered it so I'd only face people with 3 or high for their connections.
I only won one match while everyone was level 40 or higher. It's so frustrating knowing I can win, but I can't get enough damage off of them. I'm working on my okizemes more and it's helping. Fighting Valk is a pain though since I don't know how to block his BnB yet.

And I refuse to use anyone else besides Rachel for Ranked.

Sorry that I couldn't play you guys last night. Werekill sent me an invite just as I was heading off to bed. :c

I'm thinking about picking up Lambda for the laughs and to complete my sorority.

Yeah, I just need to work more on actually learning drive combos and such; that's one of my main problems.

What did you think of my "get curse then flail around on buttons" Arakune? :p

Yeah, it's ok, but we really need to play sometime! XD

Lambda is fun, and you should pick her
up, if only so that all of your mains are genetically identical.

By the way, that's an amazing shirt.

We do, I haven't played you yet! :c

And Lambda's really fun, so I might have to get in on that. And I played all the other Murakumo, so I must complete my triumvirate.

LOL I kept saving my bursts since I didn't know when to use them so I ended up not using them against your Arakune.
But geez, Curse is really scary.

And yeah, practice some combos and I think you'll do much better.

I finally have constant PS3 internet connection and time to get better at this game! :D

Still pretty bad, but add me on PSN - Octavize. Makoto/Mu player. I can't find an updated tier list anywhere.. where do Makoto and Mu rank?

They don't really have a tier placement yet, seeing as they're too new, but most people speculate that Mu is mid and Makoto is somewhere between mid and low.

Makoto is about as good as the other NOL girls. Which is to say, not very. Everyone besides Rachel is playable on a competitive level though.

I'd have to disagree with this, depending on what you mean by 'competitive level'. In my opinion Rachel is totally viable but you'll just have to win some bad matchups.

On the other hand, if Rachel isn't viable then I don't think Tager or Tsubaki are either. Tager is decent but suffers from having a few practically unwinable matchups while Tsubaki is really close to Rachel in how bad she is overall.

Lythium, some time we need to try online again and see if it'll work.
Hopefully it won't freeze like last time, way back. lol

As for character viability, I want to say Rachel is viable. She can do really well if you can get those oki's in.
Oh well, doesn't matter. BBCSII is coming soon.

I've been watching old Platinum vids today. I can't wait.

Edit: Oh, and I'm starting to like BB a lot more again. It's still fun, even if it is an uphill battle.

Werekill: Hmm... okay, let's see. Your Lambda seems pretty solid, and I'm no expert, but I think you should be willing to move around more. Use your Act Parsers, run away, backdash, whatever. Just try not to attack from the same place twice. Her gravity well is a good reversal, I'm pretty sure, so don't forget about it if you're being pressured. Um, that's all I have for Lambda, yours is pretty good. :3c

For your Noel, I would recommend learning some drive combos. You get the 5D hit A LOT, so if you train yourself to follow up on that accordingly, you could get some pretty damaging combos. Another thing to watch out for is overusing your 3C. It does break a primer, but it's incredibly unsafe on block. If someone is blocking, end your pressure with 2C, it's +1 on block.

For Arakune, you do really well once you get curse. Keep it up, it's quite good! I know there are some combos that you can learn that help get curse faster, so maybe you could look into those? As far as I know, Arakune isn't very good until he's got his curse, so I would recommend working on ways to get it as fast as possible. Your pressure during curse was great too. Also, I'm sorry about playing Mu against your Arakune. That's gotta be a hard match-up.

Also, sorry about my liberal use of Act Parser in those last matches. I haven't been playing Lambda for very long, so I'm still trying to figure out how she works.

Do you have any critiques for me?

Minato: yeah, we definitely should! I could use more experience in the Rachel match-up, for sure. :3c

Thanks! You're right; I need to work on following up 5D more. I'm decent at getting the hit, but I'm usually terrible at doing anything after that.

Well, your Noel was pretty good, and I don't really have anything to critique.

Your Lambda was great, in fact it was better than mine, but you need to start comboing off of 6D more. You would sometimes hit me with it, but you didn't follow it up. That's really the only problem that I saw, and I honestly need to work on consistently performing that combo myself.

Your Mu... was annoying for my Arakune, lol. It seemed pretty good, though.

By the way, how did you do that little grab->aerial DD combo? It was pretty cool.

Oh, and Arakune is a just-for-fun character for me; I almost never practice with him, lol, but I'm decent with him, I guess.

Thanks, I'll definitely have to work on that with Lambda. I'm just learning some of her combos now. I still have to get Nu habits out of my system. 6D still seems like a great anti-air, so I'll have to try to use it more. At least I'm not 5DD > 4DD > 236Ding anymore.

Do you mean Noel's throw into Thor? It's just throw > 236236D while Noel's still in the air after the hit from the throw comes out. The next time you're practicing, give it a shot. It's pretty easy to do once you get the timing, and it's burst-proof. The damage is pretty sucky (2.4k), but it's good for finishing off a round or if your opponent doesn't expect it. :3c

On the subject of avatars, the one I share with Shadow Draygon is easily the greatest.

I still need to get this game, I'm addicted to online Guilty Gear #R at the moment, I'm sure I'll enjoy Blazblue.

If you REALLY like Guilty Gear, you won't like Blazblue that much.
