Approved by Opossum , the owner of the Smash 4 version of this thread (Here), comes the Graveyard! This thread is for characters that … didn’t make the cut. Be it Trophy, Poke-Ball, Assist Trophy, etc; these characters will be listed here, and you can discuss their disconfirmation here.

The Smash 4 thread had some dumb discussions on whether a character was or wasn't disconfirmed (But who knows if that's hindsight talking?). Regardless, I made up a few basic rules to hopefully make those discussions less frequent.

1. The confirmation/disconfirmation of a character has NO IMPACT on another. Back in the SSB4 thread, some people were saying that Paper Mario, Bowser. Jr, etc. were disconfirmed on Rosalina's appearance. That obviously was untrue. The reverse is true too: Showing Waddle Dee as an Enemy doesn’t disconfirm Bandana Dee.
   
   
2. Seeing a character as a trophy first means they are dead until DLC. I don’t think Sakurai would reveal a character actually in the base game first as a trophy. Spinoff alternate trophies (Like Mario in a Kart) dont apply with this rule. DLC removes this restriction, as Mewtwo and Lucas had trophies in the base game. I’m not sure about DLC trophy characters (Like the Inkling one that came with the Mii outfits).
   
   
3. Seeing a character as an Assist Trophy, Poke-Ball, or other similar roles make them disconfirmed permenantly (Until Smash 6, at least). DLC can’t save them now.
   
   
4. Characters appearing as a stage hazard works on a case-by-case basis. For example, the hypothetical return of Planet Zebes (Smash 64) does nothing for Ridley, but Pyrosphere puts the purple pterodactyl out of the roster once more.

Characters that have more intermideate roles compared to the above extremes (Like Balloon Fight in Villager's Up B) will have a poll to see what the consensus is on it.

Not an official deconfirmation just yet. It's possible the English VAs weren't used (or Skye is an extremely good liar).

We'll have to wait until we actually see Pyra in some other form aside from a playable character.

This - or the VA might be different. Keep in mind Paletuna had a different VA between Uprising and Smash 4 (though it has to be noted that in this case the original, Ali Hillis, wasn’t able to voice her so they had to find a new actor).

Bill Trinen said they had tons of characters, stages and items to show off with the invitational and Treehouse footage, so I expect it'll have them. I don't expect they'd turn them off just to keep us guessing.

So here we are, less than 24 hours before we see Super Smash Bros Switch, and we see what characters made it in and who didn't. I probably wont be watching the stream the whole time, so if you see any character disconfirmed, even if it's one nobody wants like Mr.Saturn or Floatzel, mention it here.

Also as for the Pyra thing, she wasn't disconfirmed, the only thing that disconfirms a character is seeing them in a major NPC role. Pyra could be mute, recycle XC2 lines, the VA could've lied, there are still many options.

Would it be possible to just reuse dialogue from Xenoblade Chronicles 2? I mean, there's plenty of it. (It wouldn't be ideal but maybe they have enough dialogue to make it convincing?) Presuming Pyra is in the background (like the Pokemon Trainer), she probably won't say as much as Rex does.

Giga Bowser, Wario-Man, and Giga Mac have officially lost their playable status, based on the information regarding Final Smash changes. We don't know what Mega Lucario's fate is yet, but chances are, it too probably lost its playable status.

And with Charizard being with the Pokemon Trainer again, we don't know what Mega Charizard X's fate is yet. Of course, Mega Charizard X never did operate like a standard fighter; it had more in common with Yoshi's Super Dragon.
