The release will definitely be next year, with a buildup of trailers. Because it will kick off the sales of the WiiU.

:phone:
I honestly don't see a 2013 release. Not after Brawl. No way.

Also @ phaazon above

I'm not worried how fast the engine was finished because it's a fighting game engine - usually the engine itself for these games aren't that intensive, its the additional content (characters, stages, the rest)

I do agree however, that I hope they completely ignore the not multiplayer mode crap. That's the only reason people play smash. Please focus on what's important.

Wasn't Brawl's engine just a modified melee engine?

Just because it's a modified Brawl engine doesn't mean it'll be the same as Brawl or whatever your concern is

im not taking single player away from anyone ''Oasis S'' i just want whats important to be important.

:phone:
You watch your mouth when talking to Oasis.
Besides, they will have been working on the engine since brawl. It hasn't been a,we announced production, now we start working. They will have been working for a while. And it isn't that complex and engine unless they plan a better campaign.
Besides even if the engine is more or less floaty than brawl. You will still get use to it after a few matches.

Alot of this has very little to do with Ridley. I'll try to tie it in........

If Ridley is playable, his overall movements would basically be dictated by the engine. While it's like that for all characters, it could be manipulated so Ridley doesn't appear as "awkward" as Sakurai thought he would be

playing this im starting to slightly not even care who gets in or not..
its very certain that atleast one of either.
Mewtwo/Ridley/K.Rool will get in i will just main which ever one makes it along with Bowser/Luigi and maybe..Samus if she didnt suck like she didvin brawl..

above all i just hope the game is good. more precise i just hope the games better then brawl..huh..is that too much ask Sakurai..please? to make that game better then its latest installment?

Shut up, Phaazoid Guy. Don't take away my wonderful Single-player experience.
When I first played Brawl's single player, It was alright, but I'll be honest, I only played it to unlock the characters. I don't think they should do away with stuff like break the targets, but the long repetitive campaign that you beat once to unlock the characters and then never play again takes dev time away from adding other, good content. So by all means, keep a single player mode. Just don't make it nearly as extensive as last time. Just have a really good beefed up version of melee's or something.

You watch your mouth when talking to Oasis.
:phone:

lol dude, you takin stuff way to srsly. Y'all (not just you, several ppl here) are treaten this dark phaazon guy like an enemy or something just because he has slightly differing opinions. We're all here becauSe we love ridley, I give everyone here full permission to mock Oasis

We have web branching off into arguments.
So.
I think that in the air his attacks would all be really fast. Like Ike back air fast. To counter his slowness on the ground.

As far as I'm concerned with the recent news we've had until now; Namco made a new engine from scratch and presented it to Sakurai

I don't understand where people are getting this whole "modified brawl" engine from :/

First of all Thank you soo much ''samusrules93'' I appreciate it alot.

I am new to these forums.
I didnt come to these forums to.
Piss off people
Troll People
Hate on people
Suck up to people.

I came here to socialise with smash fans for the upcoming new smash the only game i really give a damn about.

I maybe new i may not use as formal and constructive sentences as most people here in these forums.

But i have been a Nintendo fan and a gamer for a very long time. Were all alone in the dark here on smash news no solid concrete info has been released which is likely because the game has just been announced last year and confirmed production of this game has started only a couple months ago which explains it.

The only smart thing/nearest realistic specualtion on info is to dig deep and try understand the agenda/future that is planned for this game by none over then the Devs themselves is to take note and try make sense/understand the words they say in there articles.

In a Article i read that Sakurai wants to improve on the co-op story mode.

Its only logical if putting two and two together knowing whats important to Devs and what they want in there game. there all out to make money ofc there agenders are similar.

If anything i can be certain for in Smash4 WiiU is that no doubt they will be a full blown adventure mode similar to the subspace emissary not having the same or similar plot though but similar i meant as in the intention for it to be a full blown smash universe story.

And imo most of the effort/time on the game is going into that aspect of the game.

Im not greedy i dont doom other peoples wishes of not having a full blown story is was cool/thrilling/unique to see it.

Its no brainer..its only logic to assume/think so when looking at a Devs stand point
But imo i hope im not alone here is that the versus and online mode needs to be on point and hopefully recieve as much attention/effort/time put in as the story mods becauss again! in my opnion..hope im not alone here. is that the versus mode and online play is what trully matters is what trully is gonna hopefully keep us playing this game longer then melee hopefully and way longer then brawl..

Face it your not gonna complete the story..play a little versus/online switch off your WiiU go to bed. Next day wake up and play the story all through again.. No one is gonna play the story mode every single day no matter how much they love the game.

But will they play the Vs mode and online mode everyday? your damn sure they will!

Someone stated they would love to see a beefed up Melee Adventure mode i seriously couldnt agree more..Why? people played Adventure mode again and again..and again.

Getting to the end without continuing on normal difficulty or above to fight giga bowser! hell yh!! it was lovelyy.

But then again considering that brawl improved on game modes kinda alot compared to melee and considering the power of WiiU whos not to say they cant/wont be a Full blown story mode but also.

Classic Mode
Adventure Mode
All-Star Mode
??????????

That sounds like the best option imo then everyone will be happy.

TL:DR: I just want this game to last and have alot more Depth and Value then the past installments. is that a crime..im sure you do too..who wouldnt...

:phone:

Imo of why smash always seems some what stale/un-complete.

i think and have a weired feeling this will happen is that chars need more moves!

Like with Link after first slash of his forward smash if you tap (A) a second slash comes out.

I think all chars should in some way have more moves..or even legit combos if anything.

What do you lot think?

Also off topic but for anyone who actually has a WiiU can you tellme if you actually NEED to have a Gamepad..for menu browsing/Miiverse etc.

Because as soon as i get my WiiU ima sell my gamepad right away for a Pro Controller and
use the WiiU purely with a Controller Pad like as if it were a 360. Is this possible?

I'll say one thing. In a projected 45-50 character roster, all star mode is going to be a *****

I'll say this again, full blown development of hundreds of employees may have officially started a couple months ago, but that's not when it actually started. They have probably had some of the character, map, and other such designers working on it for a while, to give them a base to push off once official starts. Some of the roster is probably finalized, they may have a base plot and some of the levels worked out for main storyline, and then you can sure as hell believe they have got a good amount of maps ready. They still have to make the engine and finish up and design characters and such, but there are far from having just started.

depends on what you plan to play really. theres a lot of games that will require the pad. but honestly, the Gamepad is seriously one of the most comfortable controllers i've ever used. and a lot games released for the Wii U aren't Pro Controller compatible

Yeah you need it for the menus and Miiverse. What you're saying is comparable to "When I get my Wii I'm going to sell the Wii remote and nunchuk and buy gamecube controllers!" Doesn't work. Not like that's a bad thing because when you get your hands on the gamepad you'll regret ever saying that, it's so comfortable and awesome. :)

And I agree with the thought that the story mode is going to be pretty big, but that's no reason to come to the conclusion that because effort is going to be put into that, it won't be put into multiplayer. In a perfect world the story would be difficult and fun like in Uprising and the multiplayer would be just as great, but we'll have to wait and see, obviously.

So Ridley is a cool guy...

Well that escalated quickly

:phone:

No I just hope tha he is in the game, with a cool moveset and smash, and he isnt weak. Like samus from melee to brawl weak. I would still use him, but it would be hard to win. Because if he is low tier then he is disadvantaged against 40-50 characters.

i strongly think that there wont be more then 45 characters...hope R.O.B and Ice Climbers Get scrapped for Mewtwo and Roy.

:phone:
I see no reason why either ROB or Ice Climbers should be scrapped. Also I don't care for Roy at all.

ROB is one of my favorite characters in Brawl

In a Ridley thread, that isn't much of a major accomplishment.

Considering last time we got to 1,000+ pages

The largest thread was the Geno thread. Partly because the Ridley threads couldn't last very long...

Ridley threads were eventually banned.

Why were the Ridley threads banned..
And where these threads on this board or the Brawl one?

Can you give me a little more info on it please? Maybe a link to the Ridley or Geno Thread.

I've got a link to the Geno thread, but I don't want to go through pages to find the Ridley thread

Ridley threads were banned because of the flame wars

Because Ridley supporters were very...vocal.

They also use to gather together and attack other threads.

Especially the Waluigi and Ashley threads

They also got in confrontation with the Geno thread, but we had lots of supporters and had the ability to fight back

I support Ridley, however i'm a newer supporter. I'd hope I don't come across as a douche lol.

I'd have to agree with Oasis and everybody else though. Ridley being excluded is essentially inexcusable at this point.

I am probably among the earliest Ridley supporters. I have wanted Ridley in Smash Bros. ever since I saw him flying in the background to the Planet Zebes stage in Smash 64. I really wanted Ridley when I saw him in the trailer for Melee unveil at E3 2001.

Only at the beginning. It basically became outright malice towards the end, on all sides
