My Unity teacher referenced the "small hitbox" meme earlier for people who play as female characters. It wasn't really in a negative context but man I just couldn't pay attention in class after that

Which Nintendo game would work well as an indie throwback inspiration (like Paper Mario --> Bug Fables) and doesn't have one yet?
Pokemon Channel except you're on your expensive ass space ship with your dog and you watch shows that parody cringe events on Earth like Hitler.

Somewhere out there on this big blue marble
That already exists, it's called Shovel Knight
Not really, Shovel Knight is more linear and Zelda II has the whole RPG angle that Shovel Knight doesn't have, Link needs to go to townsfolk to heal, learn new spells, fight enemies to get EXP and has to pay attention on how he swings his sword or position his shield to strike and parry respectively. Shovel Knight is a top tier platformer that I'll always hold dear but it's a very different game

I thought Shovel Knight was more inspired by stuff like Mega Man or Duck Tales.

The game developers are on record as confirming that Shovel Knight's combat system, moveset (this doesn't fully apply to any of the other playable characters, who's attacks are often either fully unique or based on characters from other platformers) including Shovel Knight's downward "pogo shovel" attack, as well as the game's villages were all based on those of Zelda II.

There's heavy Mega Man influence as well), and while the game is clearly also a Metroidvania-type platformer, Zelda II itself is arguably an early example of that same genre both of it's namesakes later defined, and even without the leveling system, the direct influence from Zelda II's gameplay is absolutely there.

if they’re making a live action HTTYD does that mean we’ll get a live action shrek series?
Wait until Warner Bros. decides joining this train and does Iron Giant. Boy oh boy! Last thing we need is more live-action remakes! /s

Can these studios just leave these classics alone? If we wanna watch them, we'll just watch the animated ones.
